So, this is probably a dumb question/first-world problem, but I don't really have anywhere else to ask it.

I recently picked up what was supposed to be an open box PRS HDRX 100 from GC. What arrived was a PRS HX 100 (one of the early units they put out like ~5 years ago before they were forced to change it to HDRX). I was honestly expecting to get a head that was probably 1-2 years old at the most, so I was a bit disappointed (I guess that's the right word).

I'm leaning towards returning it, because I just don't know how many hours are probably on (or not) on it, and I don't know where it actually sat this whole time. It appears the o-rings (see pic) have dry rotted or something, because one is even broken and sticking out from under the metal cover.

Am I being paranoid? Would you keep it or would you take it back?

If I got a good enough deal and it sounded good I’d probably just keep it, but if it’s something youre not gonna be able to shake being paranoid about it’s probably just better to return. I’d think dry would be a good sign compared to a rusty transformer or something

I guess that's why I'm asking. I was just wondering if anyone else would feel like they would be worried given the same scenario.

I had 100 water. It also had the HX designation. An early model.

I currently have the HDRX 50.
I know it’s a Hendrix head, but it always reminds me of a Hiwatt.
It’s very loud and excels at clean to crunch.
It doesn’t distort like a typical 4- input Marshall when cranked up. It’s a great pedal platform and that’s how I use it.

I was originally looking at the 50w, but got the 100 for a good deal. I plan on cranking it up tonight and playing it a bit.
I figured it'd be good with all the fuzz pedals I use.
