Looks like the guitarist from King Kobra is selling his Lee Jackson modded JMP on Reverb. I don't know much about this band, but he states this was the actual amp he played live and recorded the albums with. Pretty cool piece of 80's history imo. I know the Jackson mods are hit and miss, but some I've heard clips of sounded pretty killer. Wasn't that killer old clip of Steve Vai doing the national anthem at the MTV baseball game a Lee Jackson amp? That tone was stellar...here is the amp for sale on Reverb.

Not a bad price really either... Someone should get a good amp with a nice backstory.

My first modded Marshall back in 2008 was a Lee Jackson modded 2204. Great sounding amp! Really of all the modded Marshalls I've had, that one retained most of its Marshall DNA. All pissed of mids mids and more mids.

I believe this is Dave Henzerling of King Kobra/Lizzy Borden Selling this. Most people recognize Mick Sweda cuz he went on to Bulletpigs. But none the less, KK had some good songs.

Was that 83? 84? I forget...but I saw them also as an opener for someone....I also remember going to a Kiss show just to see Dokken and Lynch open for them! I have one of KKs CDs, Carmine Appice the drummer I think? Good tunes on it!

The 1986 racer x concert on youtube was with king kobra as a headliner or vice versa.

All I remember most is Johnny Rod bass solo.
He was fucking his bass on stage.

Nice! That's a cool score. I loved KK's first album. He went as "David Michael Philips", and played on Lizzy Borden's "Master of Disguise" album. Pretty sure he toured with Alice Cooper for a bit as well. Recently did the "Big Cock" stuff with Robert Mason.

I'm really sorry I missed that!

Nice!!!! Looking forward to hearing it!

Yeah I'm looking forward to this one. I probably overpaid for it, but I've sold a few things recently, so no guilt.

Anybody know what model Jackson that red guitar is ? Sort of a neck-through Kelley/Star/Oz Fox looking thing...dig it.

Nah..I've seen very few Lee Jackson modded Marshalls for sale, some can be as good as any out there. The one I had was very nice, an additional volume and a mid sweep that had 5 different positions of mids that you could set. His basic mod. He was one of the first and most popular guys after Jose A back in the LA scene to mod Marshalls. Should be a cool amp!

Custom Shop - no model name, but basically a Star with sharper bevels. There are two in existence - the guy that owns Mick's original also has a copy he had built. Very cool axe for sure.
