Too cool.

I'll be at the Houston show (again).

Damn! I wish Porcupine Tree would be on the Houston bill. I'd actually go then. My old band open for King's X on their Ogre Tones tour. Left a bad taste in my mouth for them. They do not treat opening acts very well. I don't expect any nation touring act to treat a local opener like equals, but I do expect some respect as a musician and fellow human being.

man cleveland is 4 hours from me.. uggh. why dont they come to the dayton / cinci area...

What did they do? One of my bands opened for a national act and we got shorted on PA, had about 2 feet of stage space, soundcheck was non existent and our time was cut a little short. Not sure it was the national act's fault, or at least the members of the band - could have been their management, or the venue, or ?

Pete

Yes , I would like to catch them when they play the Galaxy Theater next month.

Everytime I have been involved with the guys in Detroit, they fall all over the opening acts to give them all they need.

Thats not the first time I've heard this and friends of mine who opened for them could tell you some things as well. Still one of my top 3 favorite bands though.

They should also be playing St. Paul MN. June 23. I'm filling in for a friend of mine's band who's opening for them on that night.

I saw the post on musicscene.org...I'll be there!

Hey, just noticed the Rockfist in your sig. I'm Dave the first lead guitar player for them, we met at your house a few years back. How are Ryan, Chris, and Kenner doing? Tell them Dave says hey, fatherhood has me pretty busy, so I haven't kept in touch. The only reason I can do the Cold Colours gig is because I've known Brian since i was eleven.

Sweet! Kings X and Porc Tree in Cleveland! Rock!

It seems like KX is opening. Arrgh...last time they were here they were opening for Extreme. King's X is my favorite band of all time and 30 minute doses of them just isn't enough. Oh well, I'll be there in any event.

I'm surprised to hear people talking about the band not treating them well as openers. Our bassist was in a band that opened for KX at the Agora in Cleveland, and he said the guys were cool as shit. He did, however, say that Ty's guitar tech was off-the-charts about keeping people away from the guitar gear though.
