I wonder what kind of sound they'll have. The Het Set is probably my favorite thing EMG's ever come out with and I've played just about every and any combination of EMGs. But for some reason.. I trust Kirk's judgement of tone a lot less than James' :lol: :LOL: . I'm hopeful they'll be cool, but I wonder if they'll be a mid scoop nightmare.
 
Curious to see how these sound! I'm a big fan of the Het set and an 81! Maybe it's just an 81 with a slightly cocked wah sound LOL.
 
I would have thought EMG would use better grammar for a “sneak peak” :doh:

I wish EMG would make a set with raw nickel so it would age over time.

We all know that he used good old EMG 81s... not some new modified EMG MoneyGrabber set. Enough with the signature crap already. Go write another monster book or something. Geez.

There's TONS of signature pickups these days. I agree, people just trying to cash in, and consumers left underwhelmed. That said, the Randall KH103 has had my interest for awhile.. And I literally can't stomach Kirk Hammett. ( :aww:
 
Man I try not to be a grammar nazi, but I had to read that about ten times to figure out what EMG was attempting to say. Gotta have somebody proof read a product teaser like that.

Sure they have a sig pickup/guitar/amp now but what did they use to record and tour the actual awesome original shit. Off the shelf guitars, pickups, pedals and amps etc. (slight mods to amps maybe) Love it when players get sig gear well beyond their expiration date. "His best tone was 20-30 years ago, let's give him a sig item for right now!" :lol: :LOL:
He really should be selling a signature surf wax.
 
I think it’s pretty cool, he’s been with EMG so long.

Sorry I'm no I'm not a fanboy. Anyone see how badly Kirk blows when he played next to the master on that metal show with Michael Schenker? Kirk is a lame, maybe like you champ :thumbsup:
