Old Marshall's and Ampeg. You just can't beat that.

And 40yrs ago tonight they were tearing up the Anaheim Stadium.

They sounded great too. Think Paul was using the Engl Artist amp and Tommy was the Hughes and Kettners.

Yeah, man Kiss in the 70's just ruled! I saw them in 77 at the Cow Palace, it was the same day Elvis died. What a great concert. Changed my life forever. The early tones with the Marshall plexi's was unmistakable. You can almost feel the sheer power on those old clips.
 
That is when they are their peak musically. Love Kiss Alive I

Oh man that's a bragging rights concert you went to.My sister in law went to that show and she doesn't even realize what a legendary gig it was Kiss with Cheap Trick opening in 77. I saw them in 79 when they came back to the Cow Palace , it was my first concert and I still thank my parents for taking me

Paul was talking at the show. Said Saginaw Michigan was the first venue they ever sold out(my place).
The very next night they went to Detroit and recorded Kiss Alive I.
Bad ass right there.
 
2/6/77 my 1st concert. Kiss and uriah heep. Will never forget that Marshall roar. Got my 1st guitar 2 weeks later and a super lead 2 years later. They were on top of their game.

My first concert was Kiss in December of 1977 at Madison Square Garden. I was 14 and getting my first contact high.
 
freakin' awesome man! I never get tired of listening to or watching old Kiss. When I was about 8 my Grandmother got me an acoustic guitar from Montgomery Ward. Before I could play I used to look at all the pic's of Ace I could find and try and put my fingers on the guitar where his was and see if I could figure out what song he might be playing :lol: :LOL:

The fact that I was in that building at age 13 without my parents is truly amazing and I think my dad still regrets letting me go to this day! :lol: :LOL:
Cheap Trick was awesome as the opener too. The power and volume I experienced that night was unlike anything I had known previous. The whole thing warped my mind. I was obsessed with the guitar after this show. Very cool you got to see them in 79 too. Before the total meltdown that happened not to long after that.

Thats awesome man! I used look at pics and try to imagine what song they were playing. I didnt get my first guitar which was from a store called "Gemco" till I was 14. It was a supper crappy Les Paul copy that I thought was killer! These guys dont realize how many kids they caused to pick up an instrument and learn how to play it. :rock: :rock: :rock:
 
I remember My Mom dropping me off alone at age 14 to go see AC/DC. :lol: :LOL:
Man was that an experience at that age or what? :D
 
My Dad took me to see KISS at Cobo Hall when they recorded Alive.
I still completely rip off Ace's vibrato.
