Anyone own/play one and not dig it? Why not?

Kotzen is a hero of mine and had been since '93. I always wanted one of his guitars and I finally got one and then returned it a few days later because the neck is like a baseball bat. No lie. It's huge. The guitar played and sounded fine but after a while, my hands are hurting because of how big the neck was

I've played 4 of them at various music shops in my area. Still trying to find a decent one.
3 of them were really heavy and kinda dead sounding. Like a bad 70's Fender. They just didn't have "it"
The one that really rang out had the whole bridge plate & pickup assembly mounted way crooked.
Don't know how that one got past QC.
They are also kinda expensive new ( I'm in Canada, so that doesn't help ) so I keep my eyes on the classifieds around here but nothing has popped up yet.

And yes the necks are huge. Like the 90's Jeff Beck Strat or a Warmoth Fatback neck

Played one. Neck was huge. Was way too bright.
Looked good but it played and sounded bad.
IMO

i have one and love it, the neck is a fat C shape but I would not consider it a baseball bat, its not as big as a 58 les paul neck, but almost. its bright, but a real rock machine. I love mine.

I love the fat necks on them. They good Teles if you can get a used one for a good price. I think they are a bit pricey new for a MIJ Tele but its an signature model. I'm new to the Tele world when when I was looking for one back Dec-Jan I was a bit surprised it was made in Japan. For the price I figured I could get a USA a Custom Shop Purple Sparkle Custom that I had to have haha.

Played one. It was great but too heavy. Loved the big neck.

Huge neck! but as you can see its subjective, some love it and some hated it...

I owned one for a year. The neck was big, as in big for the sake of being big. Also, really heavy. Play one before you buy.

Yep, Louisville Slugger. I had the seafoam one. Sold it, probably shouldn"t have.

I played one unplugged at CG a few months ago and yes the neck was big but not to the point where it was uncomfortable for me at least. It was a really nice playing guitar and felt solidly built , loved the contoured body . I think those Kotzen Teles have a Tone Zone T in the bridge , I had a Tone Zone T in a MIM Tele years ago and that thing rocked

Played my buddy's RK Tele. Love it, neck shape, tone etc. Can't remember which p/u but it was loaded with Duncans. Winner for me and I'm going to shopping for one when I'm in the position to do so.

I have one, and have played it for years. Love it. The neck is big, but fine for me. It's bright, but it's a Tele, so it's supposed to be. The cool thing about the guitar is that it isn't a traditional Tele, it's loaded with a humbucker and gets a variety of 'rock' tones, but still retains some of that snap & twang of a Tele. Great guitars. Mines, resonant. In fact, just the other day, I was playing it unplugged at the studio and someone commented on how loud it was unplugged.
