Yesterday I tried an old Kramer Baretta with a Duncan JB on it. Well It reminded me how much I loved those guitars back then. I think I'll look to buy one. Why don't start a thread to see the Kramer's you have. I can't put a photo of mine cause I sold it 15 years ago but let see if you still have your's.

I've got a Kramer 610. These were the import versions, so not really up to snuff as the USA Kramers, but I really like a lot about this guitar. The neck is great, probably could use a fret leveling though. I put EMGs in it, and just got a new bridge with a brass trem block for it. I'm thinking about getting or making a new body for it, because I think that's what the problem with these are. I've heard they're plywood, or something along those lines, and it is rather thin sounding. Playing it next to some of my other guitars is disappointing, so I need to do something here...

My first guitar love, thanks to Eddie.

Had two pointy headstocks in the 80s that I modded and played to hell and back.

Always wanted a hockey stick like Eddie but never got one. One of these days I'm going to do a 5150 for myself.

I had a Beretta in '86 that was just "ok"...I felt they were never really up to the quality level of the original Charvels that they imitated. The nicest Kramer that I ever played was a Nightswan, but I wasn't a fan of the pickup configuration.

Here's mine; sorta. 1982 Kramer Special neck on a WD ash-bodied franky replica. Neck is so sweet that this guitar has earned the #1 spot despite the cheesy looks

My old Baretta, I sold it years ago and wish to God I still had it. I loved that thing.

Dunno if you saw my other thread, but I just picked up one of these for $1499 from The Music Zoo. 100% made in USA - only 10 made in the run! Great deal to me!:

Can't wait to check it out!

On the cheaper side you can check out the Focus by Kramer line from about the same time frames. They were MIJ with leftover USA parts. Often you got real floyd rose bridges, Kramer beak headstocks, and a killer guitar on the cheap.

My first "decent" guitar was a Stryker 100 in an odd blue/green metalflake. It had that stupid Floyd bridge that still took ball ends. I put a Duncan JB in it and the thing flat ripped. Even after I got "better" guitars like my old RG550, the Kramer was still getting the most play time.

Local shop has at least 3 old 80's Kramers in the used rack, none of them going for much. Hrmmmm.....

If it's a Striker, Aero, or Focus series they're not worth much. I would head over to VintageKramer.com to ID the model before you buy.

I need to get one since my last name is Kremer :D
Get a dozen and put Krispy on the headstock. ;)

it's still pronounced cray-mer ;) But, I've heard all the variations.
Even as I was typing I was thinking "there's no way he hasn't heard this before".

I'm a big Kramer fan. I just sold a Baretta here recently. I still have a Pacer II, Baretta II and a focus. I'll have to dig out some photos.

What really surprises me is you can pick up a Focus for a couple hundred with an OFR on it. They were MIJ as well. Those things are the best cheap guitar you can get!. A Pickup and electronics upgrade plus a decent set up and they play great.
