Anybody own or owned a Nightswan? I was thinking about picking one up but was wondering about the scale length and feel. From the specs they are not your normal super strat 25.5 but rather 24.748. Also 24 frets as opposed to 22. Wondering if they feel cramped? Also wondering about quality, fit/finish etc. Anybody care to chime in with their 2c?

I have had some og ones from the 80s. Scale feels like a gibson and the neck was amazing. Thin at the nut, rounded toward the 12th. Quality was great in the ones I had. I cant speak on the news ones however.

I have a new one in the white Aztec. Love it -- doesn't feel cramped at all. I thought it would but I really don't notice. I had it set up and plays wonderfully. The only quality issue was a pot that didn't work from 0-3. Had that replaced and works great. It's a very cool guitar. If I was rich I'd buy the blue dot one and put different pickups in it just to try it out. I'd recommend one. If you are careful you can find really good deals on these.

I'm a gimp so the Gibson scale is so much better for me. I tune everything to c# usually so that helps. I'm sure it's comparable to my 84 and it's a very solid feeling guitar. Hate those fuckin JB's that they insist on throwing in everything. I think a custom 5 or full shred in the bridge and a 59 in the neck/middle would kill. Or an emg set with the 18 or 24 volt mod....

I don't have one, but I have a Warmoth soloist style guitar with a 24.75" Gibson scale and 24 frets. I play it perfectly fine, and I'm one of those guys that uses their pinky still, even when in the higher registers. I never knew it was 24.75" for years until I had it hanging on a line of wall hangers and all were dead even and noticed one day it was shorter when hanging off the hangers than the surrounding guitars. After measuring, sure enough, it was Gibson scale and not Fender scale.

JB's wouldn't have been my first choice either, but better than the Full Shit ... sorry, Full Shred model.

There's a couple of YT clips of someone who swapped out the JBs for an Aldrich set. Sounded great!

I wonder how well a ToneNerd Psykes would sound in it

... and if you've been reading all the comments about the middle pickup getting in the way.... they need to learn to adjust to the guitar they're playing. Adjust and you'll be fine. You get some interesting and useable tones.

I'll be done with your Psykes in a few more days.

I had an original. Probably the smallest neck I ever saw. Flat radius, didn't feel cramped. My body and neck were never assembled. A customer at my wife's business heard that I played guitar and dropped off a bunch of parts from Kramer years after they had closed down.

I've owned an original Knapp lightning plus other 3 og ones.Theyre 24 3/4 " scale.Narrow nut but after 3 minutes on the neck it really is a nice feel.I have an article from kramer and buddy blaze that says it's not really a compound neck but thier own flattened version, approx 16" radius or so.
It's a very nice feel.If u tweak the height of the middle pk,it's a neat tone.Put a push pull vol in and it gets better yet..full shred and jbs split really well....I have no experience on the new ones tho so I can't comment on those.

Yeah! I dig the Nightswan! My two grumps about it; the JB pickups. I am not a fan. I just do not like the mids of that pickup.
The other; the pole pieces on the "middle" pickup are misaligned with the strings.(And, it's a JB as well...)
However, I can change out pickups. So, my complaints are minimal.

I've always been interested in them but I just don't get the pickup placement. Can you even get decent neck tones from them?

Do you think the neck pickup is trem spaced or regular?

I haven't checked yet because I'm having too much fun with my new Flying V
