They have a "5 Amp/5 Cab" switcher that looks pretty basic and straight forward and priced really well.

$399 seems like a solid price for what this does.

can't say I trust it. the guy got dropped from Diezel because he was shady. If Peter D drops you, then you have to be an asshole.
Why is that? Is Peter an asshole as well?

exactly the opposite. Peter D is one of the nicest people I have ever met.

As soon as Jens was dropped from Diezel, he went to Engl and then Diezel amps were shit to him. Engels were now better amps. etc etc.

the truth is, he has modded (unofficially) Diezel amps, (voiding warranties this way)
and has sold his "mods" as something special when in fact Diezel can and will add any extras to the amps from the factory (sometimes for no extra charge) and mods that Peter has deemed unnecessary and without basis.

anyway. the guy is a good tech and knows his way around amps. Im not saying he is incompetent, but I wouldn't trust it based on the above mentioned (and there are things I cannot and won't mention here as well) . thats all.
Ah gotcha.

For what it's worth my experience with Jens Kruse was great! I got a Marshall JCM800 with his V5 mod and it's every bit as good as anything I've tried by Friedman, Gower, and others, but has it's own unique vibe/voicing from those amps but every bit as good. He was very responsive and friendly through emails and he finished everything in a little over a week. I've never heard these things before about him being shady and I'm not saying I don't believe it, but just wanted to share that my experience with him was very positive and I myself am also interested in that 5 amp/5 cab switcher and the price seems fair

Good price. The only thing I don't like about it is that there's no input for your guitar on the actual switcher. So you still have to get up and plug your guitar into whatever amp you want to use at that time. A minor inconvenience but I'm lazy!

Same here. I've had nothing but excellent experiences.

Never had anything modded by Jens but spoke with him last month in great detail about having him go over a Diezel Herbert I was thinking of picking up used. He spoke very highly of the Herbert and of Diezel amps in general, gave me what seemed to be a fair quote for converting it to 110/120v and for tuning it up, and was extremely responsive to voice mails I left him over the course of several days.

Again never had any work performed by him and never purchased any of his products, but he sure came off like a class A dude to me FWTW.

I bought a Blueface VH4 a few years ago that hummed badly (at the store I was told it was the flourescent lights and the burglar alarm), when I got it home it still hummed...I went back and forth with Papa Diezel and Peter Strauss (SP?), swapped tubes, brought it to 3 different techs (2 authorized and one not, but I trust the guy), nobody could find/fix it. Kruse wanted a crack at it, but this was when he had been "let go" by Diezel, and I would have had to ship the amp from east coast to west coast and I was told in no uncertain terms by Diezel that my warranty would be void and they wouldn't guaranty that I'd get my amp back (there were rumors all over the 'net about amps not being returned, long service delays, amps being loaned out to famous players, etc...) so I passed, returned the amp to where I bought it and they got me a Herbert and I haven't looked back. My thought was if the maker of the amp didn't want him poking around inside it, never mind the internet rumors, I'd pass.

Yep, you gotta go with your gut. I got burned bad by a guy that seems to be treated like a god on another popular forum (won't mention specifics here because I did once already and that whole thread magically disappeared, hmmmm...). Anyway this Douchebag took my money for a set of Bare Knuckle pickups and LONG (I mean 8 months long) story short I finally had to resort to contacting Bare Knuckle directly to get it all sorted out. Bare Knuckle took care of me straight away, I mean QUICK like. A++ to those guys at BK.

Had another REALLY bad experience with another VERY popular company that mods amps out of NY. Again, another well liked guy and service provider. The whole reason I went with him was because all the positive stuff I read on the net. Well that turned into another 7-8 month long shit show, and I finally had to resort to threatening to file a dispute with my cc company just to get my Marshall JMP 2203 back some 8 months later.

Point here is:
You gotta trust your gut in the end. Do the research, but at the end of the day make logical rational decisions and don't rely on emotions. A lot of these guys are GREAT salesman and can make you feel like they're the greatest person in the world and that they want to be your best buddy.

^^^ I think I remember BOTH of those threads actually...AP on the BKs and Poo Poo amps on the Marshall ?
