Dear Reza,

it should be no big deal to get matched quartets of KT77-JJ.
One posibility would be to contact Laura / Valve Queen.
She´s posting here on Rig Talk.

Cheers,
Peter

Best deal is tube depot. I just ordered a quad of 77's for $70 delivered.

Yeah, but Bob's are closer to 77, hence KT77 which I think is cooler than 70, but still cool since yours are closer to "69".

Just wondering about the biasing for the KT77's in a Hagen.

Peter??

Guys, I am from Slovakia, the land of JJ tubes and there one thing I can tell you - we consider JJs the most unreliable tubes on the planet.. like 99,5% of what you get from the factory is faulty.. I hope your sources do a hell of a selection, cause otherwise I wouldn't even dare considering hehehe

I got 1700 pieces of KT77-JJ since May from the factory.

One of them was not heating and one was crackling during
our intensive QC.

For example we had a 60 to 70% failure rate on the
power tubes we used before.

I have no long time experience with every JJ tube but the KT77-JJ
has an outstanding quality currently and makes me a happy man.

Btw, the tube has a maximum rating at 800 volt on the plate
and 600 volt on the screen grid.

Peter??

I like 35mA for each tube at 460 to 470 volt on the plates

That's definitely not my experience either. I've sold hundreds of JJ's and used them myself for quite some time and I'm yet to find a faulty one.
I think they're great!

I haven't used the JJKT77's yet but I have experience with the 6L6's and the EL34's from them and I have had nothing but problems. Had some JJ6L6's in my engl and 3 days later had a MASSIVE failure and it took the heater cap with it :/ replaced the cap and put some Wing C's =C= in there and been kick ass ever since. I put 6 JJ EL34's in my herbert and had 2 blow at the same time about 2 weeks later. Never doing JJ again :/

Thanks Peter, gonna have to make the switch to KT77's in the Hagen soon. Just out of curiosity, are you switching to KT77's for any other Diezel amps? I own Herbert as well and use the EL34BHT currently. Great tones, but would consider whatever you are recommending.

Thanks again...

I've had nothing but bad experiences with JJ tubes as well, whether it was tone or reliability, just outright bad. Will most likely never voluntarily use them again. Will stick to Ruby, TAD, etc. and will even use Groove Tubes before I go JJ.

been rockin the gold lion kt77 in my hagen for awhile. Tighter lower mids and more articulate , less buzzy bee tone than el34's. Sloppy techniques need not apply.

I had Jens in North Hollywood bias and install my Gold Lion KT77's in my VH4 and they sound great! He also has Ruby KT77's in stock and he says they sound better than the GLKT77's.

Just make it simple. Find yourself an Ampeg VH140C (great amp) and problem solved . . .

For Diezel Herbert JJ-E34L. Very tight, clear low-mid vibe with exceptional overhead and can handle the massive air Herbert is capable of pushing. The JJ-KT77 IMO is too much like mixing JJ-6L6GC & the more canonical JJ-EL34 type.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to check out the EL34L's.
