KTS titanium saddles.

Anyone ever try these? They say it provides better sustain, intonation, clarity...the usual. One thing I'm worried about is I like everything they say about them besides rounding out the bottom end, I don't know if that means it gets less tight or just bigger. I definitely don't want looser lows but I like the idea of better harmonic content and clarity, blah, blah. Plus if anyone has used them how hard are they to cut if you need to notch them?

Yes I have ! I tried them just for the hell of it and they took my guitar from amazing to phenominal. Their claims are accurate, believe it or not. I was also worried about a bigger sound translating into a looser tone but that did not happen. In fact the bottom end tightened up, is crisper and the attack seems a bit faster/more responsive. I don't think it gives you a 'bigger' sound; more like a better sound. It just adds more definition to the tone & more sparkle.

It also made my mostly mahogany guitar harder, and a bit less creamy or soft. So if you have a really bright/stiff mostly Maple Les Paul for example, these saddles may be too much. Also if you have a fret dress issues, buzzing, etc these saddles will bring that out more.

As for filing them, I was lucky that the set I needed, Gotoh tune-a-matic, was pre-notched. But you can be sure than filing them will be more difficult than filing steel since titanium is harder.

To summarize yes I would buy them again for another guitar.

Ya, the block isn't too expensive but aern't the Floyd saddles rediculous, like around $700 - $800 :confused:
 
i use the Ti blocks on some of my strats....Overall enhancement to note definition and tone.
