So I was reading the thread that ampjunkie started about the Fortin cali modded marshall and noticed the Landry amps in his clips.
I think these may be growing on me.
Any of you guys own one, or have of you guys played one?
What are they closest to, or better than so to speak ?
I went to the website and I see the prices, but does anyone know if a dealer has one in stock ?
Or does a guy play the waiting game for these also. :dunno:

Landry's are cool. I had a 100watter for a bit.

Want the real deal in 2 channel Marshall based amps?

PWE Event Horizon  Absolutely KILLER!!!
The best 2 channel amp I've come across.

The only dealer I know of is Cliff at Destroy All Guitars. He became a dealer after hearing mine (we're neighbors).

It shouldn't take long to get one made. When I called Bill, he had one all ready to go.

I just sent mine in to Bill today to get the latest circuit tweaks in place.

I've never played a Landry head, but from clips (including Sgt Thump's who used to post here) they sound like they have 'that' voicing that I dig about a good Marshall with a good amount of gain. If I saw a used one near where I live I think I'd buy it immediately.
Clips can be deceiving, but almost every Landry clip I hear sounds awesome...gives me gas which I hate. :D

I believe Thump sold his Landry amps
He did   :dunno:

From what I've heard I'd love to test drive that amp.

Amp tones are funny, it may not have worked like he wanted it to with a band live....what you like at home and what sounds great with a band live can be very different animals.
The Peters settings that I made my last clip with, that people seemed to like here when they heard it alone, didn't sing and sound thick enough live with my band. I found myself pumping up the mids then it sounded nice.
But at home alone I never would have done that.

I played Bill Landy's personal amp that he sold to Chris "Sgt. Thrump". He asked me to play it, so the guys could hear it do modern metal. I was really impressed with it. They had been playing classic and 80's rock through
it, and it took it like a champ. Articulate, crunchy, and really full sounding. It really had that quinesentual "rock" tone I think of when someone mentions the term. No one thought it would do the metal that well, so Japetus as
he's known here looked at me and said "Let the resident metal man play!" Haha. Grabbed Chris' 'Paul and
Let her rip. It was great. Kicked the boost on, and
All he broke loose. Tight, percussive, and heavy. Plenty of miss on tap after I tweaked it a bit. It only took me about 15 minutes to find a tone I really liked, and we were switching cabs around the whole time too.

I really liked that amp. If the opportunity presented itself, I'd
Have one at home.

Oh
Yeah, that was the lower gain model too, haha.

Sorry about the weird formatting and bad grammar. The iPhone 4 doesn't like Rig Talk for some reason. My old 3G rendered it just fine, but the 4 doesn't.
Maybe I'll whip up a RT mobile for Brad.

Send Bill an e-mail. He seems to always having one in the pipeline. Only took me a week to get one direct from him.

Every time I see the name, I visualise a washing machine...

Bringing this thread back to life. Just bought a used Landry. Can't wait to fire it up!

I had a 50w head  sounded like crap. Farty bottom. Not sure about the 100w.

Great recording amps!!! Basically a hot rodded Marshall!
Love mine
