Very dark, disturbing and demented.

I like it!

Fuck yeah bro!!!
Your putting that amp to good use. That was very sinister!
Great tones dude. Vid reminds me of dethklok

Good stuff!!! One of the best Slax clips I've heard. Cut-n-boosted in all the right places too. Well done.

GODDAMN that was TASTY!!!!!! :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk:

Lemme guess, Ch.2 lower gain, presence up, mids up, treble at 11:30/noon, bass around 9:30??

Just wondering - sounded nice a chunky and not overly compressed - Ch.2 lower gain gives me that graininess. Love it.

KILLER job man, and do you have someone doing the visuals for you?? Cuz the anime was fantastic in that video. Not totally my style, I prefer more wicked, evil and sinister stuff...the ghouls and griffins seemed to be a little too polite with the townspeople; more blood, more hell, more tormented dementia...it was a little too "Katie Perry" but maybe it's just me.

:hys:

KIDDING!!!! That just kicked ALL kinds of ass

Maybe it's somewhere in the notes but please let me (us??) know what speaker you mic'd for this and what mic was used.

Or anything else of significance in the signal chain.

So fine!!!   :D

That sounds nice and brutal!! I'll bet it feels great standing in front of that beast!!!!

Standing in front of mine gives me wood - just with the look of it, power off, no signal.

Standing it front of it gives me the urge to crap my pants - when it's powered up and serving sonic demolition at noon on the MV.

Thanks guys! Heavy ideas just flow from this amp for me, fucking love the slax.

@Ventura The video is from Netflix's Castlevania series, episode 1... which is why youtube blocked my video. I just cut and pasted a little here and there. Otherwise it's channel 3 all the way! Using a Suhr reactive load with these Celestionplus 4x12 impulses
Panned Left: V30 412 C Hi-Gn All Celestion.wav
Panned Right: G12H Redbk 412 C SM57 Balanced Celestion.wav
Center: G12H Creambk 412 C Hi-Gn All+Room Stereo Celestion.wav

Also used an MXR 10 band in the loop. Settings are below

Thanks and yeah, I leave that ten band on all the time... it's like how salt and pepper is to food or something

Killer

Nice use of Castlevania too, that series was fantastic

I use almost exactly the same settings with my 10 band MXR in the loop on the JJ also, except I have the mids a little lower than you do but the mids on the amp higher.

Ventura, give the 10 band in the loop a shot on your JJ if you haven't already! I also leave mine on 100% of the time. The EQ and a clean boost give an extra bit of magic that you won't want to live without once you've heard it.

^^^ +1. I go with the Whirlwind Perfect Ten, same difference though. Friedman's loop really kills. I thought maybe my amp might be a little anemic beforehand but with the 10 band... damn... that jumped to the top of the pile pretty quick.

That was very nice. I like heavy sounds that have the palm mute still there while being raw and unruly at the same time. Watched Castlevania a month or so ago and laughed at episode 4 being the season finale...WTF I want more!!

I can't imagine calling my Slax or JJ "anemic" but hellfire if a 10BEQ in the loop really offers that much more oomph, christ I'm almost afraid to use it

Just moving house and will get everything set up by month end... Studio will likely be the first thing I'll get set up; will let me kids fend for themselves - give 'em box cutters and some loose instructions, lighter fluid and some briquettes...they'll work with my wife to get the house sorted out. I've got the studio covered :D

F@CKING STOKED!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the OP for explaining the chain; excellent intel, thank you

Thanks again guys, glad you guys liked it.

Dude I was the same way lol. Who the hell makes a four episode season one? I remember when I saw that scene in episode one I thought to myself, that would make a cool music video ;)

@Ventura the 10 band in the loop for me is a must nowadays... the amp sounds mean as hell no doubt but once you get use to the 10 band in the loop it never goes off for any channel or any type of music really. Good stuff
