I changed my rig to all Lava Soar instrument/interconnect cables and all Vovox Drive speaker cables and man, I was blown away by the lack of any discernable, audible difference. But I certainly have the coolest looking cables I've ever seen in a rig and the Vovox cables actually have a pattern that matches my silk smoking jacket. I gotta tell ya, even with all the money I've spent, it's incredibly gratifying...

It's the little things.

Leather-bound books and the smell of rich mahogany.
Yes, my friend... a roaring fire, my Dumble on standby, a Suhr Exotic Standard on its stand, a snifter of Louis XIII in a Baccarat crystal cognac glass, and a Gurkha’s His Majesty’s Reserve cigar in hand... ah bliss...

My son invited his posh friend to his birthday party.I asked him "What's your favourite game, Tarquin?
"He said "Partridge, but I'm partial to grouse in season."

I currently use Lava Soar, but if money was no object, I would go with Van den Hul. I have notice there is not much difference in most cables. To me the main difference is brightness in the top end. With the VDH I had, I notice a difference in the response and touch sensitivity. I do feel there is a high end cable difference, but most of what is considered high end for the masses, is really not to far from being the same shit with a different wrapper. I think the best thing a cable has to offer is the durability.

  thats how i roll v..seriously though youve helped many guys on here in the Q+A department, so im happy to do it..not to mention everyone of us has made a purchase on the blind ,only to be less than satisfied

I've always used the Gepco XB20UB and have always liked them, about a year ago I bought a Evidence Lyric HG and the difference was noticeably better.

For Christmas my wife asked me what I wanted, so I told her, a Vovox sonoros cable, it is the best cable I've ever tried. There is something about the mids that I can't describe, and it sounds great clean and distorted.

me personally ,i did hear what i percieved as a more natural ,cleaner even tone...maybe its what i wanted to hear   ?
mattias jabs believes in putting a new guitar on stage for awhile...he said sound traveling thru the guitar after time makes the guitar sound better..in essence making a new guitar sound aged  i dont know if its something i could hear ,but who knows....in my opinion ,the evidence lyric hg sounded better than my other gc cables....now the speaker cable i heard no difference

Hell, I've never even TRIED anything other than Planet Waves, Monster, or GC cheapos

Evidence Audio all the way. Tony is a great guy too. Here's my chain:

guitar -> melody -> pedals -> monorail -> pedals -> lyric hg -> amp -> melody fx loop -> siren II -> cab.

What can you say about these compared to others you've tried...

V.

I'd say EA is the most non-coloring cable I've tried, granted I haven't tried them all. That and it's low capacitance really let's my guitar->amp tone shine through without any "EQ" from the cable. Non technical pluses for me are lifetime warranty and EA cables just look cool haha. I'd say Mogami would be the best quality for it's price point and if you are one of those who don't believe the difference between "regular" and "high end" cables. But if you got a little extra coin available and want to try something "boutique", I'd go with EA.

Anyone else try out the Lava Soar???

Seems Mark Stoddard is (well, obviously, he's the Prez of Lava) has nothing but ACE stuff to say, and his comparo charts - which seemingly are rather neutral and unbiased, DO put the Soar in a higher class and rating than even Evidence.

I'm just throwing it out there - and hey, ya, money is an object and these (Soar) seem "reasonably" priced.

Peace,
V.

I like the Lava Clear conncts. I havn't gone any higher than that and they make a huge difference over cheap cables. Cables definitely 100% affect the quality of tone. Just on more thing to add to the tobal equation and the pocketbook

Funny! And honest

With the Zaolla's, they are expensive as shit, and I use them from instrument to board and board to amps. But, they are big cables and very flexible. Its hard to find that wrapped in a package. Like you, I can't tell any difference whatsoever, but they work and I have never had one give up, so why change now?
