I have seen a few here complain about newer Les Pauls not staying tune. I have this 59 VOS that always seemed to have trouble keeping tune, especially on the G, B & E strings. Neck was straight, nut was OK, intonated until I wanted to smash shit. Talked to Jerry at Luxxtone and ordered up a Tone Pro's tailpiece, Tone Pro's bridge and Tone Pro's Kluson tuners. Voila....instant gratification. The hardware is all aged nickel and all the tuning problems went away. I think the stock MIJ Kluson tuners are shit. Compare to to the Tone Pro's if you change them out and you will see a noticeable difference. That could have been the source of the problem or maybe in the bridge slop. Anyway, for a small amount of cash, I am too much happier now.

FWIW, the new LP Standard Pro is shipping with Tone Pro's hardware, not Gibson. Even Gibson must have realized they got a problem. I have one in Ebony inbound from the Music Zoo.

I did the same thing, tone pros and gotoh, before i smashed it.
You would think a custom shop Les Paul would be near perfect.
Just think how much Gibson saves using garbage gears and bridges.
Again,Gibson take note!!!!

Glad the parts are working well for you...thanks again! The TonePros stuff does work wonders, I use it on all my Gibson guitars myself. It is so much better quality than what Gibson uses.

man I am out of NS and need to order some more. where are you guys getting yours from?

Can you post a link to the tone pros Tuners?
I went to there site and did not find them .

Thanks,
Brian

+1 on the Nut Sauce. I thought it was a crock of $hit until I tried it - no more "clink, clink" when I am tuning or bending strings!

I think they only have kluson type gears.
