Les Paul Pro?

I used to have one...sounded good, played well, but it weighed a ton. This one is modded for humbuckers...they came with P90's. Mick Sweda played one in the "Smooth Up In Ya" video (modded with a bridge hum).

Traditional Pro? Im going to be getting the same! How do you like it Tone feel etc? Im used to the 50's neck profile so the 60's should be nice since the slimmer profile.

Sounds great, around 12+lbs, action is slammed to the board. I am researching the pickups to see if they are really T tops or not. They look like they have all the markings, but i'm still not sure.

I have owned 2 Standards and a Traditional. The Traditional Pro that I have now is my favorite by far. But it is indeed heavy...........weighs in between 11 and 12 pounds

I agree, I bet if you pull the pickup rings, you'll see where it's been modded from P-90's.

I am not sure what Gibson's intent is with 15 models of Les Pauls these days, unless it is to copy Fender's marketing strategy. Confuses the hell out of me. I remember when there were 2 choices....Standard and Custom...

Nice looking guitar though. Nothing beats an old Custom.

Agreed. It's all marketing; the more models you have, the more chances you have of hitting a "niche" for whoever is buying your guitar.

The reason I like the smaller mainstream builders like Music Man and G&L are that they only have a few models, all exemplary examples of a particular style of guitar. Honestly, with so many fantastic choices out there for super cheap (especially the Suhr Pro Series), I cannot fathom why anyone buys from Fender and Gibson anymore... not with the Suhrs and G&Ls and Heritages out there that make a far superior product for the same (and sometimes less) price.
