Finally getting a Marshallhead bridge p'up started a cascade effect. Next was a Dr Vintage neck p'up. But I decided to retain the stock pull-pot shenanigans and the stock knobs suck for pull-pots (I think they pretty much suck period and are ugly to boot). I also added a chrome switch tip but it's hard to see. Kind of funny how I removed chrome from the pickups but added it back elsewhere, I kind of like the chrome tuners. At least they look a bit more modern. I've always preferred LPs sans pickguard. It's a '13 Standard I got here from Braciola, stock and immaculate.

What do you think? Are there any switch plates that would look good?

Nice! Looks good man. I agree about the pickguard. Wish mine didn't have one. LOL!

That's a great looking LP. What's the finish on that one? I have a 2013 Standard as well. Mine's tea burst. Looks like we have the same preferences. No pick guard, no pickup covers. Mine has a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan '59 in the neck. I also pulled out the Gibson circuit board and replaced with Gibson branded pots.

Question: why the hell do all my pictures end up so big? I use direct links from Imgur. Shit is ridiculous.

For your pics, insert a lower case L (for large) right before the .jpg.

That's a nice color I like that a lot. Mine is Cherry Sunburst but it is just very non-clownish. It actually looks more clowny in that pic than in person.

I actually bought it a bit on a hunch/whim, the guy I bought it from always has the nicest stuff so when he was selling a "garden variety" LP I decided to take a chance and it kicked my previous LP to the curb pretty fast.

Thanks, I fixed the pic!!

I find there's so much variation in Gibson finishes. Mine could easily pass for honey burst at least based on some pics I've seen. Yours too. It doesn't look clowny at all (thankfully).

Here's another example of "this guitar sounded good with stock pickups I usually don't love so I left them but I finally swapped them" and in this case the difference was bigger than the LP above. This guitar had Dimarzio Breeds in it and was definitely my highest output guitar. Now it has a Custom Shop Duncan bridge pickup that is around 16k/A5 and Jalen Origin Bridge pickup (9k/A2) in the neck position. It's my only 24 fret guitar and I guess I assumed I needed a stronger neck pickup than a 22 fret guitar and this bridge pickup is pretty strong so that's why I chose an overwound PAF-type. It sounds amazing and the middle position (3-way switch) sounds awesome. By far the most Les Paulish tone I've ever had from a Strat-based guitar. My Chubtone is very "Stratty" in comparison which I love too.
