Led zeppelin
The Beatles
Rolling stones
U2

I try so hard to like them some times as it is are roots but goddamn i cant go through a song.

Never liked Van Halen or U2, cool stuff, but not my cup'o'tea. Tool now.....MMMMMM.....god damn, I love Tool.

How do I know what bands I am supposed to like ?

I do not like or dis like bands much ... for me it comes down to songs I like or do not. That changes all the time.

There's too many that I haven't liked at one point or another. But, If I can ignore all the hype and crap and get down to the music, I can usually find something I like from everyone I've ever heard. May not like anything else from them, but I can always find something good to take away from it. I never got caught up in one form of music over another and will listen to anything for at least a few minutes...................

Well, except Dickelback---it's like the worst 80's poser/party rock regurgitated overagain..this time thru Mesa Boogies. :jerkit:

That being said, never understood why:
The Beatles
The Grateful Dead
or Lou Reed ever had a career in music.

i'd be excommunicated if i listed all the bands i don't like that i "should" like.

led zepplin and ac/dc top the list, though. :scared:

In the style of Gene's post:

Bands I truly hate:

Nickelback
U2
Nitro (Or any extreme 80's glam like that)
Blink 182 (Or any punk-pop music like that)

Bands I just don't get:

Smashing Pumpkins
Slipknot
Grateful Dead
AC\DC (cool for like 5 minutes, then it just gets repetitive)

for me it's:

- John Lennon's solo stuff except for Imagine (although I'm a huge Beatles fan  )
- Rolling Stones
- Oasis
- Coldplay
- Velvet Underground
- Nickelback
- King Diamond
- Dimmu Borgir
