The 6l6 would have more lows and lower mid ..but the amps can take either tube .
34's have a more aggressive mid bite .which I like because I am used to Marshalls ,that are brighter and they cut great for me live

I don't have any firsthand experience with the baron, my opinions are from the clips I have heard.

And the titan is really tight too, both of them seem to have a similar tone going on. From clips, it seems like the baron doesn't have a shitload of lows, and neither does the titan. At band volume and mixed, the titan shines brightest though.

How does the Titan feel and sound at low volumes?

The 6L6 sounds more ideal for me, then. I prefer low-end over bright highs.

The titan has an excellent mv, the only thing I can see as a complaint is that you can't get a massive low end at tv volumes. The titan contour knob is where you can really determine where you want the amp to sit in a band mix. They are both very loosely based around the slo.

Yeah, Angry, I just talked to Dave and he said that the bright switch was hard wired in my amp so that it's always on. So the amp can get quite a bit darker than my clips show. I may send it to him in the future to get some things done so they are to my exact specs. ;)

The K2 can be bright and sharp, but you can also change the voicing to focus on the low mids and turn the bright switch off ;)

They are the least fizzy and most cutting high-gainer I have ever played.

I love these amps and the way they sound. Great for the money and the guy is awesome. Very helpful with some of my personal amp builds.

Here is an audio demo I did of the amp. The playing isn't the best, but I did what I could to showcase the amp. I will be posting a thread about it as well:

It's all heresy, really, at the moment. Baron/Dave doesn't yet offer a European/UK voltage transformer so I can't actually put down an order until he does. It says on his website that a suitable tranformer should be available by the end of the summer. Which would leave me enough time to fly to Germany to check out a few Diezel amps and give them a really good going over. And would allow me to save up a little extra, too.

The reason why I want to work with Baron is because I can ask for specifics. Obviously not everything is customizable, but his amps have great features, anyway, with or without my input and requests.

You have the 200 watt model, though, so I'm sure that has something to do with how much low-end you can get a quieter volumes. I don't actually play at tv levels, anyway. I normally practise relatively loudly but turn down things like the presence, turn up the depth and remove a little of the mids. It just seems to allow higher master volume levels, without the normally piercing tone of a pushed EQ section. For gigging I just EQ the amp differently so that it cuts through accurately.

Angry ,this is probably a good clip for you it is the 6l6 .you can hear it is darker and more low mid also somewhat somewhat smoother and a bit more saturated to my ears ...same amp channel just 6l6 based

Thanks, man. I had a look at his website again, specifically the model MII60 with 6L6's, and there is a clip there that sounds great (and isn't low volume).

I've spoke to Dave through email and he seems really cool. (though I think he's forgot to email back, so our conversation was cut short)

If you think he forgot to e-mail back, he probably never got your message. He is the king of communications along with Mike Fortin.

Here'd from Dave yesterday, My K2 is three weeks out!!! I can't wait!!!!!
