Here is an audio demo I did of the amp. The playing isn't the best, but I did what I could to showcase the amp. I will be posting a thread about it as well:

i see in your sig that you have a 5150 II.


how close does your k2 sound to that?

can the k2 get as much saturation and gain as that?

i would like to hear a few clips with some solo playing, i already heard a lot of clips with great and grinding rhythm tones.

The K2 has a ton more usable gain that a 5150II. Gain is useless on a 5150II passed 7. It is useless on a 5150I passed 5.5.

The K2 is just as saturated, but it is a much tighter, more articulate amplifier. It is also quite a bit more versatile.

I'm just gonna bump this cause I have a question. I hope that's okay?

In that clip, and the one below, the YouTube demo, the amps seem to have a really harsh and cutting presence. They're super tight, which is awesome, but the treble sounds grating and coarse.

I was really planning on getting one of these. But if it sounds like that in person, then I might just go back to getting an Einstein, or maybe a Titan.

edit: Yeah, so my question is; do they sound as sharp as they do in these clips?

I'm back to your clips on netmusicians. It sounds tighter than anything else I've ever heard. :shocked:
 
They seem to sound similar to my titan in the demos I have heard, except harsher. I have never played a baron though.
 
Definitely not bad, but I stand by my original statement. Every baron amp clip has sounded harsher than my titan.
 
I had a Baron K88. I hate bright amps. While the K88 was brighter than most I've owned, it was not overly bright or harsh sounding. It could be made that way yes, but you could also dial it in with a very nice and dark tone too.
 
I agree it is how you dial them in .they have a lot of mids .some peole will like em some will not, same as the Splawn I played .I liked it but I can see how somebody would say it is very sharp maybe even harsh depending on speakers ,pickups etc ..

Titan amps don't seem to be as tight, from the clips. What do you reckon?

Vintage 30's might be waaaay too nasally for a Baron.
 
I don't have any firsthand experience with the baron, my opinions are from the clips I have heard.

And the titan is really tight too, both of them seem to have a similar tone going on. From clips, it seems like the baron doesn't have a shitload of lows, and neither does the titan. At band volume and mixed, the titan shines brightest though.
