Let's say you had an EVH Wolfgang special and wanted to change the pickups. What would you use for both the bridge and neck? And... Go!

Is there a sound or direction you want to go in?

And FWIW, I love the EBMM Axis, so I'd say Air Norton and AT or TZ

I have the first set of Wolfetone Marshallheads made to fit in a Wolfgang.

But I just got an EVH Frankenstein PUP and LOVE it. Don't know if they make a version to fit the Wolf though. They won't take just any PUP.

Honestly I'm just looking for something that rocks but that is warm and fat. What I really want to do is install red pickups and also change the dtuna to a red one.

AT-1 bridge and Air Norton neck DiMarzio.

Glad you mentioned those. I was actually looking at Dimarzio, my only difference was the Tone Zone but was considering the AT as well.

I've used the AT in many of my guitars and everyone that hears it loves it. Warm but not to fat. Just the right amount of heat and harmonics. Very pick attack responsive.

Has anybody tried the BKP blackdog vs the wolfetone marshallhead? Hows like ? Am looking for a 8 string set as so far am zooming down on a BKP blackdog or a holydiver.... am looking for a "raw" natural tone ala motorcity afawayu and also being thick, tight and response well to pick attack....

I haven't tried the blackdog but have tried most of the BKP humbuckers and they're definitely less raw than the motor city or wolfetones. Unfortunately, wolfetone doesn't make 7 or 8 string pickups (I've asked him before for them), but I think motor city does.

If I wanted it all, I would do a 59 in the neck, and then one of those old Bill Lawerence XL-500's in the bridge. Smooth to shred.

I'd go BK VHII set, or if feeling aggressive Juggernauts.
But I am a BKfanboi! Love the clarity and attack

Hi braintheory.... yeah i have asked Wolfe for a set of 8 string marshallhead pickup... he replied yes but not cast in stone yet.... they actually came out with an 8 string marshallhead pickup but due to reasons its still on hold....

I tried contacting wade too and his answer is no.... and sadly his angeldust is also sold out as i heard many good on angeldust here and after trying that afwayu pickup in that jackson guitar i got off from you i guess.... love the tone but i would like to try a regular afwayu thats not underwound....
