Want to use this for FX Only, Mono FX series loop.

Guitar -> Amp Input ->FX Send -> G2 -> FX Return -> Amp Power section

How the fuck to connect this and set the routing/options on the FX? I went over the manual and even reset the G2:

I got a AMP FX Send connected to G2 Insert and G2 FX Main Out connected to AMP FX RETURN...all I get is all WET or no audible effect as I crank the Reverb Mix down.

I swear I had this working once but cannot for the life of me figure it out again!

EDIT: To be clear, I am not looking for 4CM setup, I do not want to use the preamp of the Lexicon at all.

Well I got it working but it sounds like shit...must be doing something wrong.

If you got it working once, it must be in there somewhere. I've got one of these, and there is a number of places to adjust, and many of the Lexicon patches are for a specific purpose (4CM, stand-alone, etc.), which also affects the way it behaves. Routing was one that helped me overcome some weirdness, along with the noise gate setting, global patches - well, everything you can control. Without knowing which patch, and the accompanying system settings, it would be hard to help. If you haven't found this already - http://www.stecrecords.com/smf/index.php?board=8.0 - is a great resource of this thing.

Is the input on the MPX set properly. I was having a similar issue my MPX1 all the sudden until I realized the input selection got changed from left only to right only. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting any effect.

I'll have to check it out....though I realized this is my third thread over time asking for help on this unit, perhaps it's just not for me.....it is possible I had to set to Stereo also and then hooked up in Mono

I have an MPX-1 from 1998 that is still my main box. They are complicated, but still have good sound quality if you can figure it out.

I dunno, just can't seem to get the mixing right in SERIES, either not enough or too much effect. I set it up per the manual trying to achieve unity gain and the clip light just coming on.....basically I have the same volume when in FX mode versus BYPASS.

I'm running the ROUTING with REVERB in parallel with DELAY, which seems to be the best way to go but even run in SERIES, doesn't sound right to me.

It seems "better", there's less of an impact if I run DELAY/REVERB in parallel mode on the LEXICON...effectively converting my Series FX loop to parallel but of course then I can't turn it off without phasing issues - maybe I'm missing a setting?

I know the setup works because I can remove the LEXICON and plug in the Digitech Hardwire DELAY and sounds OK.

Wow, almost three years later and I pulled my G2 out again and got it working almost instantly with my JP2C \m/

I don't have a Lexicon, but I have used rack effects for decades. I have found that running series is usually the best, though you do get after effects/coloring. I set the rotary levels to unity, if there is a input/output gain knob, and then internally I set the levels of the effects. I have the loop on the amp engaged all of the time. For rhythms, less delay and reverb, solos more with a little signal boost.

Also running it this way, the output knob on the effects unit acts as a master volume.

I'm running my MPX-1 parallel through a Sampson rack mixer and it's awesome. Sometimes I bring up the MON and/or EFX controls up just a bit depending on what I'm using which seems to feed a little of the signal in series too. This morning I was using a modified PCM60 reverb patch in the MPX-1 with a "smear delay" patch I created in the 2120. I'm addicted to the damn thing. :D
