Anyone else wonder when this community of Lexicon owners will ever come down in their asking price like all the others from the digital realm?

Lexicon is a pay to play staple and for good reason. They’ve made their mark in history for reverbs and that 80’s lush tone just in the proprietary converters alone. I didn’t get a price break on my 81 even when it needed repair.

All the most typical Lexicons (say, the PCM70, 80/81 and 90) are already consistently super cheap for what they are and I doubt they'll ever be cheaper. You can buy those all day long for €500-600 and it´s been like that for a long time. If we're talking the more expensive models like the PCM42, the 300 or the Prime Times the hype ebbs and flows a bit more, for sure.

As stated above you can find expensive Lexicons for very good prices today. A PCM runs for the price of a strymon... something that always makes my mind go "WTF?".
I got my PCM81 for 400€ and considering it was a 3000 $/€ machine... I'd say that is definitely cheap. Maybe you just need to be patience or to look elsewhere. Places like reverb or ebay tend to be more expensive.
Looking locally or thru different channels may get you there.
The most expensive used Lexicons are PCM42, 480 and Prime Time delays. Even the mighty 300 isn't as expensive as it could be. 900/1000 is its asking price... for something that was in the 5000 range....
What has turned my attention to expensive Lexicons these days is the Dual FX card for the Pcm80/81. Some people are asking over 300 $ for it and that's definitely expensive... as it was a 250$ thing back in its day. Maybe people should let these sellers realize that and et a lower price. That card makes your PCM really more powerful and versatile.
A Lexicon will never get as cheap as a Boss used product. If that's what you're hoping for... just abandon the idea. It deserves its value.

No I'm certainly not expecting Lexicon to go for the price a Boss product will go for lol...you guys are on point. I just need to look somewhere else to find a reasonable price. Ebay, Reverb definately run high.

Yeah, expect about $500 at the cheapest for a 70 or 80, and good luck with the hunt!
