It has been a long time since I bought an amp. Had a few modded this year but those clips gave me gas. Plus I retubed a dudes 6505+ the other day and digging the shit out of it.I clicked on RT and managed to see that thread and decided it was definitely worth checking out.

So, you were sent an amp to make videos to demo the tone of the amp, but then you only play it boosted? I can not really take these with anything more than a grain of sand of how it actually sounds then due to that fact.

This is not an attack on you or anything, but if you received it just so represent the amp, it just seems like a misrepresentation. However, if he sent it to you just to play for the hell of it, then you can kindly ignore everything I have said... or you could do so regardless.

It sounds good, but I feel like any high gain amp demo with a boost in the mix is a write-off in terms of basis for comparison.

That's a very dark sounding clip. Is that just how you dialed it in?

Thanks to all who have listened and given feedback.

As far as the boosting "issue" , I stated that for the tones I go for, and for which I was asked to obtain for these videos, a boost was necessary. Not sure what else there is to say. I understand the concern, but boosts are widely used by guitarists and just about everyone has a Tubescreamer or the like. The real character of the amp still shows through so I think viewers will get the vibe of the amp.

I am going to do one more video with no boost but it will not be a "produced" track with drums and bass. It will be a walk through with a large diaphragm condenser mic in the room so there is that.

That's a very dark sounding clip. Is that just how you dialed it in?

Really? I can see the 7 being a tad dark because that guitar is super dark sounding but the LPC tone I think has plenty of top end. I can not stand too much treble, I think it makes any amp sound cheap. Just my opinion. There is no post eq at all on the LPC clips but I had to add treble to the TAG clip because the guitar is just voiced so dark. Maybe it is the H3 pickup.

I have a pretty flexible schedule. I'm open Sunday. Besides that, if we plan in advance we can make it happen. I would like to give that Hulk or Killer Kali a run as well. Be nice to shoot a demo for that on my end. My wife bailed to Japan for the month, and some how pack the charger for the video camera. Thats why I haven't got one up of the Beast yet. She sent in the mail, so I'll have it going in a couple of days. Send me your number, so we can materialize some amp cranking.
