8.5 years for shoving an 87 year old lady to her death? What a disgrace. Doesn't really detail why she did it. Does that sentence seem kind of light to you? I would think 15-20 years would be more suitable. Possibly more. Or am I just being harsh? Seemed like a needless action and someone's mother, grandmother, or vocal coach is gone.

RIP to the old lady.

8.5 years and be out in three…for murdering an old lady. Went out of her way to do it.
Pitiful. I'll take your word on that. So if its 15-20 year sentence how long can you get out on good behavior? Six or seven?

Sounded like she was drunk and angry and wanted someone to take it out on and there was the old lady and she gave her a good shove, she conked her head and died a few days later. Old people and kids are the wrong target to take your angers out on. Pled guilty to avoid trial with possible 25 year sentence. I wonder if the judge figured the old lady wouldn't make it past about 95 years old anyways so 87+8.5 years. Messed up way of calculating a sentence if so. Slap on the wrist.

The fed is different….inmates can accure good time but at a much lower level. Most states are set up on a one for one system. For every day you serve you get an extra day’s credit. Then good time can factor in also. Thus my comment about how much time she would probably do. Just depends on the judges decree and how they word it. Example…life with mercy-eventually you get out. Life without mercy- you stay forever. If you have multiple charges and sentences they can deem whether they run consecutively or concurrently. Basically all sentences run together or they run one after another….say you rob a bank and shoot a guard in the leg. You get charged for bank robbery and malicious wounding. You get 20 years for the robbery and 20 years for the wounding….the judge can decide whether you do all 40 years in 20 together…. Or the big bitch….20 years for the robbery and after it’s served, 20 years for the other….meaning 40 years total. I have seen this abused so much through the years because a judge gets butt hurt.

Plus federal prosecutors threaten all people with the same deal…take this offer or if it goes to trial they will enhance and max you on everything. Say you lie on something such as a loan application for a house and you screw up or even falsify something. The right prosecutor wants to make an example out of you and the wording of the law states that you doing that is punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment. They will offer you 10 or 15 years in a plea. You refuse. They seek the max and slap a lien on everything you own because obviously you acquired by ill gotten means. They are Fuckin dirty. I’m no inmate lover but right is right. There’s no truth in sentencing. That bitch received 8.5 years for killing that old lady yet I have seen crackheads get an automatic 20 in the fed for having a tiny bit of crack. Don’t get me started on the dumb shit I have seen. It’s a nasty game.

The sentence is way too light IMO. However, if the perpetrator was black, some of the same beta-male lefty SJW’s who are complaining would be crying for a leaner sentence due to racial justice. Hypocrites.

Amazing how racist some members here are. This story has nothing to do with race yet some always want to go there cause they just can't help their deeply racist souls. So sad to go through life like that.

I agree light sentence but something else was going on here. She was given a LONGER sentence by the judge than what the prosecutor had requested. That almost never happens. Look at the J6 scumbag traitors. All of them are getting less time than what prosecutors wanted.

There's something weird about this case.

Someone might be able to or will try to make a case for it though. She a well to do white karen who shoved an old lady on her head and only got 8 years. I see it more as the "well to do" part. 8 years is a sweetheart deal. Her attorney must party with the judge on the weekends. Definitely not a public defender.

She shoved an old lady. The falling, hitting her head, and ultimately dying is why it's manslaughter and not murder. I'm assuming it has to be her first criminal offense. You just hardly ever see a judge come down harder than a prosecutor. Strange.

I'm with you. Still seems like intent when you shove an old person without warning. Shoving anyone without warning is bad news but an old person is especially bad news. I was gigging once and a guy got on stage and threatened me up close. I thought he was about to swing so I gave him a shove with all I had and I realized he was so drunk it was like jello hitting the dance floor. Zero resistance. I thought I might've hurt him but before he could even get up a big no nonsense bouncer had grabbed him by his shirt and his shorts and threw him out the back door face first. Anyways, just thinking how much worse that could've turned out for him and potentially me.

Hope you are doing good today brother.

I support the death penalty in cases like these.

I can respect that opinion. I used to be the same way, now I weigh death penalty stuff pretty carefully. It's somewhat morally confusing to me as an orthodox person so I should probably talk to my priest at this point and see what he says before I draw a final conclusion.

How about those two scum bag cops that shoved an old gif to the ground ? His only crime was he didn’t die I don’t think. The cops got off Scott free. I hate cops. Scum bags one and all hiding behind the blue wall.

This guy got the death sentence in Democrat controlled Philly. He tried to say Philly is safe. Sorry, but he was too stupid to realize the truth.

We have some issues with law enforcement in this country. We also have to deal with a lot of shit that other countries don’t have to deal with. I’m going to be honest. I have done some bad things. Like really bad things. Mother fuckers had it coming though. On the other hand if a guy had something coming to him then he got it. I never disrespected anyone or mistreated anyone that didn’t treat me like that first though. Police now a trained in a para military manner. At least in wv they are. My uncle is a retired trooper and my nephew is a deputy. Not sure if you guys remember about my other nephew getting shot on his first day on the job from the academy as a town officer. Criminals and people in general are a lot more dangerous and violent than ever. Part of the problem is the culture of people in uniform. I lived it for decades. Machismo….
