Lightning bridge

Just put one on my R9. Perfect fit and didn’t muck up intonation one bit. Fixed the problem with strings breaking over back of bridge. Will test it out later.

These look like a great idea for folks that don't like top wrapping.
 
Just learned that the crown of the Bridge flattens out over time..

Is the problem driven by an insistence on screwing the stop tailpiece all the way down? These days I top wrap and I raise that stop piece way up so the strings feel extra slinky. It don't do jack to mess up the tone contrary to what people seem to believe.

I’ve had it set up several ways. Top wrapped sounded fine, but the aesthetic bothered me.

I don’t have to have the tailpiece slammed, but there is a certain point when raising where it does change the tone of this particular LP. Not necessarily worse…..but different enough that I notice it.

I didn't believe that was a thing until I got a mid-90s LP with a flat bridge and action way too low on the middle strings.

Was not a big deal. I just filed the saddle slots deeper for the outer strings until the action was even again. But it was weird to see it actually had happened.
