It's funny seeing the EBMM forum members go gaga.

Yep thats pretty much that forum in a nutshell. No condesention or criticism allowed. Still their instruments are really sweet and there is a lot of talented players there.

Ain't that the truth. The really funny thing is all the Guitar Center lovers/defenders  I tried to put a deposit down on one but they wanted full payment up front and the guitar isn't going to ship until late sept/early oct. I suppose if I had the cash available it wouldn't be a big deal but I need to sell some stuff to come up with the cash...

I joined the Carvin forum when I bought the Legacy amp back in 2003. I ran for the hills from that place.
They edit your posts or delete them at will. You can only mention Carvin on that site and only in a good light.

Free speech my ass, manufacturer's forums are ridiculous.

The list price is $100 or so more than a regular axis. I was quoted $1925 drive out on one which again is a few $ more than a standard axis. Still kills me to have to pay that much for one when they can be had for much, much less used.

I started going there a couple of months ago and it's worse than the vintage drum forum I used to go to.

Guitar forums such as this are a great place to discuss stuff directly with manufacturers/builders, unfortunately I've spent enough time on the EBMM forum, that the jackass known as Sterling Ball will not be receiving any $$ from me. I do think they make a good product though. In their case they would be better off not having any contact with him available.

Now they just need to put the switch back where it belongs and we'll be all set!!

Hmmm. These look like standard Axis guitars from 4-5 years ago. What's the fuss?

Same experience with the Peavey forums.

This Limited Edition Axis looks cool. Not really a fan of the pink color one though.

I love Ernie Ball guitars. I think they are some of the best high production guitars on the market. I like to go to their forum from time to time. There are some cool guys and awesome players that frequent the board. I like the fact Sterling joins in the interaction. It is cool to see him interact with individuals that make him successful. However, I don't like the way he is so inflexible with some of the member's opinions. He is super critical against anyone that might have something constructive to say. I have a friend who loves EBMM guitars and has been trashed by Sterling on a couple of occasions. I was quite surprised by his responses. Unfortunately Sterling gets a handful of supporters who blindly back him, right or wrong.

I know I am a bit of a fanboy for Tom Anderson but he interacts on a daily basis on the Anderson forum. He does a great job of communicating with everyone and answers all questions. He never sidesteps questions or issues and doesn't deviate from his stance. The cool thing is that he does it with grace and acknowledges that his product doesn't always fit what others look for. In fact, there was a member that told Tom that there were certain things about his guitars that just don't work for him and decided to sell them off. Tom acknowledged the opinion, thanked him for it and understood that perhaps there were other manufacturers that were a better fit for his needs. He left the door wide open and did so humbly. I have noticed that Sterling hardly ever sidesteps an argument and his tone in his responses is very curt.

Nothing against Sterling, he makes a killer product and can do whatever he wants on his own board. Not directed necessarily at Sterling but part of the reason I love Tom's guitars is because of who he is and what he does behind the scenes and not purely on the guitar itself. When I buy his guitars I feel like I invest in the whole organization. That's why I am a "fanboy".

I started a thread about how Eddie nailed Sterling's wife, that's why I got banned :aww: Any EVH talk will get blasted down over there in a hurry

It was when I first started getting into the message board forums and spent 99% of my time on HC, so I really didnt know any better....and I sure didnt know who in the heck Big Pappa was

I tried to aplogize but the pm I got from a mod was "are you fucking insane!!!"

FANBOY!

I love how Tom is also pretty open to suggestions some of which make it to production. I also like the fact that he sticks to his guns about certain aspects of his guitars.

He really isn't just a great owner/builder of a successful company -- just all around a great guy.

Axises are the bestest most funnest guitars I've ever played, and I've been wanting two of those discontinued colors for a few years now. So I'm thrilled about the offering. Gibson makes some cheesy artist limited edition or special color and doubles the price. These are $100 more than a standard new Axis. I've had used examples of one of the colors I ordered quoted to me at or more than these new ones cost. Really not a deal worthy of a lot of hate in my opinion.
