Line 6 Echo Pro and Mod Pro...

Anyone use these rack mounted units? I'm thinking about setting up a small rack to go with my Rivera TBR and PQ3. I would run the Echo Pro in the loop of the amp and the Mod Pro out front. I just don't like chorus, phaser, flanger etc in the loop. They sound too processed to me...
 
Have you checked out the M13 ..

It has the Delay pro, Mod Pro, Filter pro Distortion ,Reverb all in 1 box you can save different combos of the effects like 4 delays into each other ,Tuner ,MIDI I think ,and differnt outputs .So you maybe able to send the delays to the loop and the mod in the front .

it 499 will probably cost ya about $100 more than the 2 pro units ..

I used both, they sound good but are a nightmare to incorporate in a rack. I had the Mod Pro in a loop of my GCX and it caused serious groundloops so I had to use some palmer isolation box. The Echo pro was ok in series, sucking some tone but sounded a lot better in parallel. Also this had groundloops.

Unless you own them, I would look at other units for what you want. Check out the new TC Nova-system.
 
Man the SDE-3000 I picked up is a freaking sleeper for delays, just beautiful delays :rock: Running that with the Lexicon MPX1 for verbs and it is sweet supersoaked heaven mixed with a SM26.
 
I have all 3. I picked them up for under $250 each over the course of the last year. For that price I think they are worth it. I don't have a respectable preamp as of yet, but once my M4 arrives I'll be running it W/D through a Rivera TBR5 and my Sunn 4x12. The plan is to get it dialed in and then my other guitarist wants to have a Youtube shootout. He has a friggin mothership rack using a GCX for pedals and a Gmajor through a Mesa Rec Pre and 2:100. I'll be sure to post something here when I do.

The units color your tone a bunch. I'm thinking W/D will balance it out though. If you're looking for something really easy to dial in that will work in a live situation and can get each for under $250 I would say do it. On the flipside consider you can get a Gmajor or Mx300 for less than $500.
