Hey guys

Any major differences between the Echo Pro rack and the DL4? I'm thinking more for my studio so the Echo Pro is interesting me.

Any help is appreciated!

Thought maybe I could help.
I own both units, and if it's for your studio, or will end up in the loop of your amp, I would say go for the echo pro.
It has all of the features and models of the DL4 plus a few nice extras such as:

It has balanced XLR ins and outs. You can use it mono or stereo with the unbalanced 1/4 inch jacks as well (no TRS though, seperate right/ left ins and outs).

Some other advantages are its ability to sync to MIDI clock from your DAW or another source. (the unit has a MIDI in and an out which can also be used as a thru port if you need to daisy chain)

On top of that, more hands on control, still has the expression pedal input on the back, and more room to store your presets. The A/D converters sound a little cleaner to me on the rack unit vs. the pedal also.

Hope that helps :)

Do they still make the echo pro? Is the 14-second loop sampler included on the rack unit? That would be a major selling point for me. I'm pretty happy with the DL4 though. Oh, and welcome to the forum! :)

I believe the looper on the Echo Pro has a lot more time than the DL-4, but I don't remember an exact number. Also, please tell me you know the double time trick on the DL-4... You're not limited to just 14 seconds.

The looper on the pro actually gives you 60 seconds normally, but you can get 120 seconds if you use the half speed function, so you get a serious increase in loop time!

The echo pro is out of production, but you can still find them used every so often for a decent price.
Well worth it for me since I almost always like delay in the loop anyway.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Uh, no I don't know about this double time trick. Please inform me!
