Well if it's even comparable to AxeFX or Kemper it'll be a STEAL at that price.

Yep and from the video I'm totally impressed..... seriously they did a lot of work on this thing to make it very user friendly and I thought the tones in the song were very nice. Glad I didn't jump on a FX8 to replace my GSP/Floor Control for my 5153 rig. Now I'll get the great FX plus modeling back all on the floor like I had with the HD500. Sweet!
 
It'll be interesting to hear it, but on the face of it I'm tremendously impressed with the feature set and the design is straight up gorgeous.
 
Definitely looks cool. I'd love to hear an effects shootout with it and the FX8. I wouldn't use the amp modeling so it'd be effects only. I'm surprised they proved it $100 more than the FX8
 
The RJM style LED footswitch labels are such a good feature.

The FX8 only has effects......this new Helix by Line6 has amp models & effects. Fractal's upcoming AX8 floorboard has amps+effects as well, so it will be interesting to see the the pricing on that.

This Helix from Line6 looks great & seems to have all the features everyone wants including IR loading! I hope it sounds great!
 
Looks like I might finally be able to give Line 6 another try. The PODxt sucked so bad I left and haven't taken them seriously for years. They spent WAY too much effort in marketing junk for kids. (See the Spyder amps). But this unit looks like they are aiming for someone like me who wants great sounding effect, usable amp models, and all the I/O options without having to shell out almost $3000 for units like the AxFx or Kemper that has features that I don't use...like profiling.

...fingers crossed on the sound quality............
 
It'll be cool if they include Bluetooth iOS editor for it like the FireHawk (or whatever it's called)
 
GUI looks great , labels that are switchable cool ,Up to 4 IRs at a time and 4 amps cool
It look slick BUT I am always leary of LINE6.
43 new amp models I would love them to release this and have it just blow people's minds but past experience and game changing tag lines have left me with a I'll believe it when i see it .
They must have done their homework to go into that price point and they know whats out there so fingers crossed they came prepared

Right but as I said, I would not be interested or have a need for the amp models so the effects are all that matter for me.
 
All this means jack piss if it sounds shitty. Cuz most know what their own 3rd party IRz can do. So the modeling better be on plane with kemper tones or it is another let down for most.
 
Line 6 knows they have to be on par with the axe fx and the kemper if they want to be selling to anyone at that price range. I think and hope that this delivers. The interface looks amazing, i know their products, what i can expect when i need warranty or have an issue. I dont think its for me, im getting the torpedo but if i where thinking of getting axe or kemper i would def. wait it out now.
 
This would have to really deliver for me to consider spending this much on a Line6 product. Hope some people get em in hand and throw up some vids. Interested to hear what it sounds like in a metal/riff context.

+1 , totally, quite a hefty price tag for a line6 product, presentation looks great finally fixed and added all the stuff ppl wanted out of the pod hd (3rd party IRs , there's a power button as well =) multiple send and returns

looks very sleek, i'm curious if they'll make slightly cheaper models say with no LCD screens above the footpedals etc
