Hi

I'm new to the forum so please forgive my lack of knowledge lol :-)

I have a question about setting up my rig

For ease of use, i want to run my line 6 m9 multi-effects board through the front of the amp, rather than the effects loop ( I want to keep my pedalboard tidy and hate having cables everywhere)... BUT... when i switch to the overdrive channel on the amp it over compensates (distorts) the effect. Is there a true bypass effects loop pedal out there that i can use to keep the effect levels at constant volume, running everything thru the front end and using both amp channels. Fussy I know but i dont like Amp effects loops (too many cables to take to a gig) :-) Sorry if this is a ridiculous question

Many Thanks

Mike

I don't really understand, sorry.

If your amp is cranked up into overdrive, channel switching or not, then of course it will distort whatever signal is running into it.

If you want to run an effect without its sound getting distorted, then get another amp and dedicate it for clean sounds. Get either an AB/Y switcher, or any stereo effect pedal, and split your guitar signal with it. Run one output to your M9 then into that "clean" amp, and run the other output to your main amp that has the overdrive channel.

If you want more help don't hesitate to ask.
