I finally purchased my first Line 6 kit, the M9. I heard a few good demos of it, though the factory presets sounded like crap to me, not surprising. So many options in this box, it will take me a long time to go through them all, not to mention tweaking each effect to my liking, comparing M9 options and AB'ing with my pedals.

Hoping I can cop my pedal board effects enough to pack them away, and have scenes for the amps/amp modeling options I use. The form factor is near perfect for me. While I dig the amp/cab models in my Vox valvetronix kit, the effects are just ok. Maybe the M9 will be better?

Anyone else using the M9? What's good, bad or ugly?

Answering my own post... :aww:

The M9 is cool. However, I'm not really getting along with it. I had a Nova System, sold it; now I want another. I will wait to see what happens at Winter NAMM perhaps a new version or replacement of the Nova System will be released? I'm going to play with the M9 a bit more, but I think it will be going up for sale soon.

The M9 doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't sound as good (going on memory here) as the Nova System IMO. The M9 has much more versatility though I don't need that much, overkill for my needs, just like the Ultra. Considering the G-System too, but for that price I'm not too far off from another Ultra and would do that instead. Any 15% - 20% coupon codes around? If I could get new Nova System with 15-20% off, that would make me move faster, then again Winter NAMM isn't too far off? Geez, I need more patience!

Anyone else? What's your experience with the M9? Has anyone compared the M9 vs Nova System side-by-side?

i am using the m9, when we have to travel light. im using it with my diezel vh4, and a silvermachine wah. excellent, but i dont use an ass load of effects. it switches my vh4 channels. m9 out front of amp....i have a dirty, lead (use a hardwire delay in loop) ,a phaser on dirty, clean with univibe, clean with trichorus/delay/verb, and a dirty filter patch... but they all sound great. fast ch changes no lag.

I'm going to get this M9 working for me, though I plan another Nova System (see what happens at NAMM though). This thing is so powerful and flexible, I'm sure it will work out. Thanks for the info Crabby!

M9 is a keeper...for now. ;)

I'd be all over the nova system if it had a relay like the gmajor for channel switching and the ability to send the gains/ods through the front of the amp and the chorus/reverbs/delays through the loop....until that happens, it's kind of a waste for me.

well the m9 is pretty simple to use, i had the g system, excellent but it pissed me off..... a lot of deep paremeters, and after a/b ing them with analog pedals, the pedals won, and im back to a switcher (rjm) in my bigger rig, but for a quickie and where we bring lil gear, i have my m9 set up like my big rig. and it works flawlessly, i love that crazy phaser they have in it, its wicked sounding. the only thing is i put a delay pedal in the loop and have a preset set up for ch4, loop on and that turn the delay on for leads. but the effects sound good, clean with the tri chorus is excellent, its a simple solution, i call it grab n go!

The M9 has been a godsend for my studio rig. I don't use the overdrives, but the fuzzes are cool. It's got so many effects that I would never put on my pedalboard, but I now use because they are there, like seekwah, and EQ I used today.

I'm liking the M9 more and more. I'll have to see what improvements TCE makes to the Nova System in the future but I think I'm good for now!

I run my effects in front, not in the loop as I only have one amp with a loop, and I want to use the dirt in the M9 too.

I'm sure you can make the N9 work for ya, just gotta find the sweet spots with both the board and the amp you're running it into.
The N9 is overkill for me as I just use distortion and delay 90% of the time.

I don't need things running before the amp and in the loop at the same time, so the Nova System is a great unit.
I believe today I really found the sweet spots between it and my amp. Took a lot of serious listening and tweaking over a few days.
Just dial in the amp for a nice clean or slight crunch and run everything in front.
