i was thinking of buying one of these to record and mess around with. i know close to nothing about them or how they work and if their easy to use

my main reason for buying it is for recording, and my biggest concern is hooking it up to a computer, does it require a mic preamp(like a presonus firebox) to connect to the computer for recording or does it just work via usb. i was planning on using some other recording software like logic or cakewalk and didnt know if it would be compatable with either....

i just know nothing about it and when i google it to find info on it i just cant seem to find any answers on it .....does anybody on here use them

help me please !!!! :D

sorry but line 6 is bring guitar gear down with there cheap gay modeling amps i hate anything they make its all modeled after something that already is cool

i agree line 6 stuff is gay

but i honestly am just looking to get it to arrange song ideas and just dick around with, not to do anything that im going to be taking at all serious. its just to get ideas and arrangements down so i dont forget them. and id rather go down this route to do it instead of setting up mics and all that fun stuff

either way the xt pro isnt really like the spider shit .... meshuggah and symphony x used them to record albums with

it is what it is .... basically just the easy route to recording so you dont have to setup mics and find sweet spots and all the time consuming bullshit

its not like its going to be my primary amp, i have a mark 5 to get all my tube tones with

The Pod XT Pro does not require an additional Interface to hook up to the computer. It's got a built in USB audio interface. Fairly straight forward to use. FWIW, I never liked the high gain sounds it could do. Clean and mid gain stuff was OK.

yea, its not going to be something id actually use if i were serious about recording

im only getting it for song arrangement/strusture purposes, and to put drums and all that along with the guitar parts.....

i just think it would be much easier to just plug in and play rather than set up mics and all that shit....ive been around that with my old band and its such a pain in the ass to do....i just have no patience for it

try the zoom huge pedal board thing my friend bought one on craigslist for 150 it was so sick and it has 2 12ax7 tubes and comes with recording software.

You'd need the metal pack or whatever to get the better high gain modelers, and even then it's not that great. There are some people who can get some really excellent tones out of the Line 6 stuff, but it's hard to get them to share for some reason.

anything line 6 sucks balls thats my input

I disagree, for home recording they're great. And I know people who have got good tones out of them.

Don't cork sniff. :poke: :emofag: :grim:

yea i mean its not like im trying to win a grammy for production quality sound with the thing

i just need it for simple and easy recording purposes, so i just think its the route to go, ive spoken with a friend who uses it and he said the secret is to run the headphone jack from the pod into the line in on a firewire preamp....he told me thats the best way to record them and have them sound authentic....he sent me clips and i couldnt even tell it was digital

and yea i can imagine that zoom pedal being completely horrible, i would never even consider buying one of those pieces of shit........if i remember right i think the digitech ones are supposed to not be good but decent

but i dono for the digital modeling thing it just seems like the pod is the right choice its cheap and if you know ow to use it it gets the job done....im not gona be the sucker that gets fooled into spending 2 grand on an axe fx either
