Hello, I have heard of a ton of mods that Dave does and am wanting to know if anyone could give me a list and short description of each one(besides for the Marsha mods pretty familiar with those). Many thanks! :) Mods of interest that I haven't found much info on are angry hippie, and Afd.

I can't remember who it is but someone here on the forum has owned an amp with the Angry Hippie mod so hopefully they will chime in and give you some info.

I don't have any info on the AFD but imagine it sounds killer considering it is capturing that tone, which of course is legendary. I know someone asked if Dave could do BE, etc. AND AFD in the same amp and he told them no. Not sure why that is but Dave must be using something in the AFD mod that is significantly different than the BE/HBE mod tonewise. Different transformers, etc. maybe?

There is a guy on here that used to own a Marshall with the Angry Hippy mod. His handle on here is: fearhk213

He'll be able to give you a detailed breakdown on that mod. He's got really good ears for this stuff. Hit him up!
Angry Hippie is a switch on the back and works in conjunction with the sat pull switch on the front. The NFB wire plays a part in the mod. What it does? It sounds great. It adds a tighter bass and a sweeter top end. It's hard to describe but I can tell you it sounds great. The JBE switch also seems to work without the Sat switch. It smotths the mids. My amp sounds absolutely awesome. I wouldn't trade it for my Wizard back, Just great tone. Mine has 6550's in it. I tried EL34 but didn't like it as much as the 6550. Maybe because mine was modded with 6550

I am thinking you should trade it to me. Anything in my inventory seem interesting?

I bet he'll take that CCV :D
Steve You giving up your AKA (Exlax). You have a Marsha and a Naked  Now you want my JMP. I may want your CCV. Ooh that would be tough. I replaced all of the caps in the amp and dressed some of the leads up perdy.

What are you talking about?? the angry Hippie is not a switch at all. The Hippie is a very organic mod but high gain and it can not be combined with any other mod at all and you can't have a loop with it either.

Dave, Is the JBE the same as the angry hippie?

nope,i believe the JBE is just a tweaked version of the HBE mod for Jerry Cantrell from "Alice In Chains"....the Angry Hippie is a WHOLE other beast ;) ....correct me if if wrong,Dave.

Steve

Everyone stop asking questions so Dave can work on my amp. :D :D :D

The JBE is a tweaked version of the BE w/ the saturation and a few other tweaks.
