Gotta say...Wife got me a new Shiit Mani phono preamp for xmas and I run my Vinyl(which I haven't listened to since 2003)"into my Protools system and I gotta say my original vinyl of this album guitar wise sounds fuckin phenomenal. Some of the best guitar tones I have heard. The Mrs. also bought me Rush 40th Anniversary Hemispheres on vinyl as well as Opeth Still Life....Both are killer. Getting the Vinyl bug at the moment. Anyway...Warren and Robin's tone kills on this album!!!

Awesome!!! I've been back on a vinyl kick for the past two years. I got two records for Christmas and just picked up the first record I ever bought as a kid with my own money (Cheap Trick Live at Budokan).

I remember when Invasion of Your Privacy came out. Me and my buddy were such huge RATT fans, that we painted an old country and western toy guitar I had to look like Warren's "Swords" guitar. LOL! There are some great non-hit songs on that album like "Right Between the Eyes", "What You Give is What You Get", etc. Obviously everyone flipped out when they heard the beginning of "Lay it Down" that first time. I didn't like the sound quality as much as the first album or the third but still awesome!!

I was listening to Dancing Undercover on vinyl the other day and that has to be one of my favorite guitar tones to this day. Beau Hill was just killing it back then!
For anyone who is still interested in this band I think this new song from pearcy is strong:

I’ve found that the old vinyl records have a different EQ to them. I recently gave away my original VH1 record to a friend. It sounded way better than the cassette and DVD’s we have now.

My 19 year old son flipped out when he listened to Fair Warning...dad this stuff sounds so much better than the stuff out today

Yes!! I love stuff like that. I was in a guitar store the other day and this kid was probably 12 years old and was playing Metallica's "Unforgiven" on acoustic. I was digging it. It is like these younger kids are starving for awesome guitar, etc. I think all of the 80s metal stuff is going to end up being like Zeppelin and Sabbath is to us.

I was thinking of scoring a turntable and starting a vinyl collection, but I know I'll end up with V.A.S. and spending too much $$$!!!

Great album , some of my favorite guitar tones . And props for mentioning Robbin along with Warren . I think Robbins best work is on Invasion after that his addictions unfortunately started to get the best of him

I just got Number of the Beast on vinyl and love the sound. I love how the industry (in many cases) is including free downloads or other downloadable extras with the album.

I have one Maiden album and it is "Powerslave". Sounds badass!! I know they are more expensive but really dig the 180 gram vinyl.

I have about 25-30 records I've saved since the late 70's early 80's. Part of the fun was sitting there looking at the album artwork while listening. I remember being like 10 years old listening to the wall and being scared as hell of the big huge 50 foot tall ass.

I have Live After Death and it sounds excellent too. 180g vinyl is the shiznit though. trumps my older LP’s, but what i have that’s old, some will definitely stay. I will be selling some though so i can get others. I am only gonna get staples on vinyl, or collections. Still like the ease of spotify, but Listening to Opeth on vinyl(180g) and then listening to the same on spotify, you can hear the reverbs way more on vinyl and it sounds more open. more wide. it’s awesome.
