& millions of bootlegs i got from the Bootleg stall i worked on at the weekends that Piss on any of the bands live albums...i was blessed w/ that job.

I still think The Black Crowes "Freak n' Roll" is a textbook vintage rock live album. It's just perfect. Recently I've been kickin' it to The Elms "The Last Band On Earth" live record. Check it out at TheElms.net. KILLER Les Paul > Plexi tones.

What irks me about a good number of live albums is when they add tracks later. The Kiss Alive albums and G'N'R Live Era are too that come to mind that I know that did this.

Live Cream vol 1 and 2 are two of my favorites. Along with Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies. I recently picked up the reissue of Hendrix Live in the West, what a great collection of live Hendrix.

The Who Live at Leeds is another amazing live album.

Double Live Gonzo
Live Bootleg
Song Remains The Same
Kiss Alive
One More From The Road

Live albums ruled
When music was music.

Throw in Unleashed in The East for good measure.

Megadeth "rude awakening"
Drowning pool "loudest common denominator"
Wasp "double live assassin"
Testament "live in London"
Iron maiden "rockin in rio"
The doors "live in Hollywood"

Ozzy/Randy - Tribute
Rush - Exit Stage Left
Journey - Captured
The Band - The Last Waltz
Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
Hendrix - Band Of Gypsys
Every Live Van Halen Bootleg from 77-78
John Sykes - Bad Boy Live
Extreme - Take Us Alive
The Jacksons - Live (I know, I know. I had to put it in there. Its one of my favorite live albums....)
I would put Kiss Alive but we are talking about live albums lol!!!!

I like live videos, but for some reason I don't really like live albums. I'd usually rather listen to the studio version if I can't be there live... videos at least come a little closer to being there.

I really liked the first video of the Live Sh!t box set (from the Justice tour), for example. But I never really cared for the included CD's.

some of my fav in no particular order

yes - yessongs
rush - exit stage left
genesis - live
king crimson - on broadway
fates warning - still life

I would add these as a couple of my favorites:

Racer X - Snowball of Doom 1&2
Dream Theater - Score
Joe Satriani - Live in SF
AC/DC Live

I love live albums and the rawness that they used to be. now they are pretty much fixed in the studio unless its a bootleg :)

Randy/Ozzy - Tribute
KISS - Alive
Foghat Live
Ted Nugent - Double-live gonzo
Judas Priest - Unleashed in the East

Lots of great albums mentioned. One I didn't see listed is Cheap Trick Live at Budokan.
