I just found out about this and wondered how in the hell I didn't hear about it sooner. For those unaware, Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates has a video series where he does songs with different featured guests (have included Billy Gibbons, Joe Walsh, KT Tunstall, Cee Lo Green, Train, Finger 11, Todd Rundgren and many more). The audio quality is really good and features some great jamming.

I love Cee Lo's F-You and the Billy Gibbons videos (great tone). For more videos you can find more on YT or Daryl's site. http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/archive.html

Love that show. It's cool to see the gear those guys use. And Daryl still has the pipes and soul. Good stuff.

As a sidebar,...
His longtime guitar player died during one season.
I loved joe walsh commentary about no real musicians and song writers around anymore.... "...too much electronics,....no one testifying and making music..."
Sly Stallones brother was on one episode. They did an old Philly a coppella thing. Kinda funky.
The cooking portion always makes me hungry.

I really dig the shows man.

Check this one out... I love the drums and bass on this, so tight and grooving.. perfection

Cee Lo's got the goods, love his persona or hate it

I've always liked Chromeo on that show... funky

Great show with great musicians. He's got the life.... playing with that caliber players and then having a good meal.

I've been watching that show for quite a while - love it. The DVR is programmed to snag any new ones that come on. You can catch them all on-line if you missed an episode: http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/

There are a ton of great collaborations, but the one with Rob Thomas stands out as a favorite. Also, the one with Fitz and the Tantrums was awesome. I had never heard of the dude, but his voice and Daryl's sounded great together.

Solid show for sure. Especially liked the Gibbons episode. Daryl has definitely still got it... amazing pipes!

One of my favorite shows!! Love the music and the warm setting. The Billy Gibbons episode was great! It was also great to see John Oates on the show. Great music! I live about 30 minutes away from the Pawling/Millbrook area where the show takes place.

I've never seen the show or heard Cee-Lo, but that version of "I Cant Go For That" was sublime!

I'm gonna take my friends link up there and spend the rest of the day diggin' on the great music!

One thing that watching Billy and Joe brings to mind?

I've actually never articulated this before, but wont try to say someone else hasnt thought the same thing.

The more experience you have the more "slow" everything seems to become.

Watching those two guys play its almost as if they are TEN MILES behind the beat and yet completely in time.

I'm NO WHERE near those guys in terms of experience, but I have noticed that it all seems to slow down on stage these days. Even if the tempo is no slower than its supposed to be, it just feels slower.

And this is a good thing.

Here http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/curr ... l?ep_id=71 is an example of a genre I'd never listen to....but to hear the harmonies and little rhythmic drum and guitar hooks Daryl and Paul put in there was truly PRO.

And the Joe Walsh episode was probably my favorite....along with Gibbons, and the guy from Train (damn can he sing), rumors voice got to me as well.....

Great show. Was cool seeing "This Old House" doing an episode about the house :D

Fantastic show and DH has still got his pipes. Caught one with Darius Rucker in Charleston I hadn't seen before, great stuff!

Love that show!
I've been watching it for months and it's awesome.
The band musicians are excellent, and the gear being used is always a treat to see.

I always liked Hall and Oates stuff in the 70's, but I couldn't stomach the 80's crap.
Private Eyes? Really Hall?
He is really an amazing musician and fantastic singer, and this show really shows that.
You can tell he really loves what he is doing on the show, which to to play with excellent guest artists and working/playing
in their genre's of music. That really shows Hall's amazing range in musical ability.

The conversations are good, and the food looks amazing.
I think it would be really cool to have like a 10 minute segment on the artists gear when it's appropriate to discuss gear, like when a musician/singer is also a player. It'd be cool to have a small segment talking about the gear they like, what guitar they brought, what other guitars or amps they have.
Maybe we could write in and suggest that kind of thing. :)
Or even a 30 minute "after show" show where Daryl and some of the house musicians talk about the gear they used for the show, of course including the guest musicians comments.
I'm sure a big part of the shows audience are also players at some level and would really dig a segment or after show like that.
Would you?

I'd gladly write in a suggestion to the producers and Hall. :)
