Lockdown = gear sales up ^

Oh it’s definitely true in my case. I’ve been buying and selling like a fiend the last two months. I’m probably personally responsible for at least half of that 50% hike. \:D/
 
IDK about gear sales but I went to buy a couple of atv's and the showrooms are all but bare .

Seems to me that in about 6 months to a year the gear and atv market will be flooded with used deals when all these people have to choose between what they bought that they couldn't afford and eating.
 
I’ve bought a ton recently, scared to list it all out. I’ve sold some things too, almost all on Craigslist.
 
Yeah since the start of our lockdown I bought a 5150, a mark iv, and a molecular. Also a keeley Caverns and a bunch of components. Now I'm thinking about downsizing. I think 2 amps are going to go. My Orthos and Mark IV are staying. The 5150 and either the molecular or monomyth are going to go as really one hot rodded Marshall is all I need. I will probably get rid of my Ceres and PA50 as a package deal. I've been super impulsive and I have a mayones on order I have to pay for soon. I think I'm splitting hairs on tone. I should invest more time learning instead of buying gear but G.A.S. is a mofo
 
I’ve been buying a lot. I’ve got a bunch to sell as well. Amps, tubes, guitars. Haha

That said, I‘ve been playing a lot too.
 
maybe I'm not looking for the right things, but I've been pretty disappointed by the used market. I went in expecting some great deals, and not only has little changed, it feels like prices have gone up, not down. Maybe I'm just too picky.

Definitely! I think oddly enough that with places like GC not being open the used market for buying shrank a bit. Typically I could find most anything Im looking for between GC's used site or Reverb. With GC not shipping I had to buy 2 amps from Music Go Round. I was in the market for a Mark IV and everyone that got posted for sale was gone less than a couple hours later. So I ended up having to buy a combo to convert into a head which is ending up costing more than if I would have been able to find a head. Usually if I couldnt find what I was looking for on Reverb, GC would always have it.

I almost moved on a Molecular that was recently on Reverb, but I passed. I figured my Monomyth more than covers modded Marshall territory. How do they compare?

I havent gotten it yet. Nik's crew was shut down and just started building again. I feel the same way about it being redundant. Unless it does something better than my Monomyth it will probably get sent down the road. I love the demo's that Bubba Stain has put up which was really want made me pull the trigger as well as being able to buy it in 3 payments and a little bit of a deal.

And yeah, I agree with you about the used market. Supply/Demand.
 
I have been a bit out of control on buying. In the past month I have bought two Taylor acoustic guitars, Friedman SS 4X12 cabinet, a few pedals, and other accessories.

Have been shopping for a Taylor anyway and with the buy one get a mini for $99, I just did it. Working on Travis picking now.
 
I had been pretty dormant for 2-3 years. Sold an amp recently, bought 2 amps (together cheaper than the one sold), and got a Power Station PS-100 (game changer!! besides the great re-amping, the post-distortion FX loop I now can add to any amp is amazing).

The guy I sold my amp to bought at least 3 amps at the same time (each over $2k!)

GAS is strong
 
I just listed a guitar on Craigslist and FB Marketplace, sold it in less than 60 minutes, lol.
 
I have sold more on CL in the past month than I have the past three months. And my Framus Dragon is here that I bought. I picked up about a dozen things and am sitting better than ever. Traded a guitar that I bought for $550, for a Gibson Les Paul Studio Fireburst. Which was literally untouched. Lol. Literally NOS from 2012. Lol. Case and candy.
