dont get me wrong... aduit trails/info to search on is VERY useful!!.... i think Thump asked for his posts to be removed. So not brads fault for deleting them

Although sounds like loose/loose situation though. Dont delete, thump upset/delete posts, we upset

I haven't seen anybody place blame of any kind, so let's not take it there. This is, however, why you have policies, whether written or unwritten (I'm referring to the post removal topic)

What's your source for saying that you "think Thump asked for his posts to be removed"? Is this just a guess, or were you told this.

Either way, as an administrator (which I'm not) I never eliminate audit trails, whether I leave the posts on the public forums or move them to an administrative forum. Again though, a fan of audit trails.

Hey Bob

Sorry i got this info from other posts on the 1st page(?)

Il go see if its still there.

edit: found it.... 5th post down, 1st page.

I just truisted it was true comming from the Mod

Chris posted some things some people didnt like and he was told to go find another forum if he didnt like it. So he asked to be removed and so he was along with all his posts.

Drama.

This place has become pretty cliquey of late IMO.
Agreed.
Yeah you know you think people would be not as happy as they are that chris left as he is the one that started this place so we could all come together and hang out. Just think of all the effort and time money that a couple people did to turn this place into something pretty sweet.

Yeah thats what made/makes rig-talk special is the "like it or leave" mentality.

I didnt say I had problem with that at all. Chris wasnt banned..... he asked to be deactivated and doesnt seem to be bitter about it.

Sounds about like what he did at HC...except the mods there don't "remember" and see his account as banned...

I think all of us soemtimes need a break, and it's easier to ask to be removed, than to sometimes "give it up" for a while.

A break? From what? Posting on the internet? Then take a break. Why ask to have all evidence of your participation removed? It's odd behavior quite frankly.

He didnt Dave, It was an error that happened when his account was deactivated at his request. He simply asked for his account to be deactivated, not to have anything else removed..

Oh OK. I didn't know that. I need to read the thread more gooder. :)

Hey Guys,

For the record, Chris did not ask to have his posts removed specifically he asked to have his account removed. When I removed his account his posts went with it. I did not intentionally try to get rid of his 7000+ past posts and it was a function of removing him that they were deleted, if I could recover them I would but I cant. I am not losing any sleep over it though.

He wanted to be removed he is removed end of story...

I am no computer genius tech guy, I am a sheet metal mechanic that decided to keep the forum running out of pocket when it was in jeopardy and is learning on the fly how to run the admin panel. Do you think I make one dime from any of this? The answer is NO and I am cool with it, I like this place allot and have met some really good people through it and really like a place to hook up with like minded musicians and talk tone.

To be honest in the last few days I have asked myself why I even bother, then I get some cool PM's by allot of you here (You know who you are) and I appreciate it!

Onward and UPWARD!

How bout some Rig/Guitar/Gear discussions :D

I suppose that I'm speechless. Don't really really know what to say about this. Chris did have some awesome clips but he was a shit stirrer. I know I always didn't get along with him but I did think that he brought value to the forum unlike other that shall remain nameless.

I don't post much, but I've been on the board a few years and my take on it is this:

Thump was a basically good guy that sometimes rubbed certain people wrong sometimes. A few times he seemed to get negative out of left field if you didn't agree with him.

I loved the free wheeling board of the old days, but first the Mitch incident, second the various Carl and friend incidents grew very tiresome. When Carl came back last time and went over the top again on some guys that have been solid contributers and cool since day one (who may have rubbed Thump the wrong way as well - who knows why), Thump basically told them to F* off and did it his way. When many people complained about that decision, he got real negative and then we heard he's decided to sell the board. It seemed just sort of immature to me, although I basically thought of him as a cool guy (still do).

After rare bought the board, I for one was not sure if I liked some of the changes, but looking back I think everyone has to admit that rare's changes seem to have brought a lot more traffic and new users. I totally disagree that it's more "clique" than it used to be and it seems to be really positive to me.

Rare, keep up the good work and understand that a lot of people are very grateful that you kept it going for us here. I think we should all cut Thump a little slack as well since sometimes it's hard to see your baby grow up and move on without you. Maybe he was having a bad day.

Dude it's your site....
Full erase of existence!

I've always thought the idea of asking to be removed was extremely fruity
Like what about using a little self restraint and simply not clicking on a thread or forum?

How's the Friedman rig?

Please don't delete me! When my wife ask why I have been on the computer for hours this place is my porn cover. ;)

Look guys, I think I am a pretty easy going guy or at least I sure try to be. Chris was not banned, he asked to be deactivated and I obliged. He is welcome back in the future if he wants to join us. I am the first to admit I am not the smartest guy around or the best guitar player or any of that.

This is not my main gig and I am not on the site all the time. I come here to have fun and enjoy talking gear with all of you guys and I have made some really good friends along the way.

I just ask that I get the same respect back.

Brad

 I missed the boat on this one.
I've personally dealt with both of you, and met up
with you a couple of times. You're one of the coolest guys
I've done business with Brad. I love the direction rig-talk has taken,
since you grabbed control of the helm.
I don't know what happened, but I hope Chris comes back.

How's the Friedman rig?

Thanks for the support, Your clips rule btw!

The Friedman rig has never been in my possession, It is still at Friedmans shop being modded and programmed. I am sure he got busy doing other rigs and to be honest I didn't want to push him as he has been nothing but cool to me and is tweaking my modules for me. I figure when you rush a creative guy it doesn't go well, at least it doesn't with me. That said it should be nearing completion now and I hope to have it by the end of the month!

I, for one, am glad Brad owns the forum. I think this place is awesome!
I have had the pleasure to hang with Brad in person several times and I can tell you that I have not met a more sincere, humble and stand up dude.
The big fellow is one cool dude, even if he did drag me through the kitchen at the Hilton in Anahiem.

I consider Brad a dear friend and I stand behind him 100%

Keep up the great job you are doing here Brad and thanks for keeping this great community alive and well!

Mark

takes one to know one! Man I wish I could play as good as you...Although I dare say I can carry much heavier roadcases up 3 flights of stairs than you!

Mark, you are first rate! No get some black hair dye and get in the game!

even if chris was getting contentious and trying to stir shit, I do think its kinda lame how many people are taking the "good riddance douchebag" route, considering that he and bob started the site so you guys could have a place to hang without bothering with hc or tgp

i have no complaints about the way either chris/bob or brad run the forum. both have done fine by me, and I can't say I've really noticed any changes.

brad-if i had a vagina, i would put it all over you. you big teddy bear.
