I'm not a big fan of the user's posts being deleted when a member is removed, because I like to maintain "audit trails," but the whole situations is unfortunate, for sure.

I dont blame him for wanting his posts removed (If thats the case) Anyone with half a brain could see that hes not shuffling all 52 from his posts. The guy was incapable of taking any responsibility for his actions( like someone else we all know and love LOL!!!) but loved putting the blame on others for it. Its also funny how the guy would like to take underhanded potshots in public but was incapable of talking about it in private, be it PM or Email; says alot about a person IMO.

Chris started a great place, sold it to Brad and Brad has made it better IMO. Im still cracking up at the "This place isnt unique or special anymore" bit.. LMAO!!!

Aint no thing though, this place continues on like nothing happened, as it should

I don't know what was said. I did catch an earlier thread with Thump giving his point of view on the changes that have occurred on this forum. It seemed like it was going to get heated. It sounds like it did. However, this is nothing new to this forum. Anybody remember the Vai thread a few months back that got the forum riled up? I recall it sparking a few heated threads and a few members here pretty much took their ball and left the playground. What about the now perma-banned "idiot savant"? Talk about heated threads....However, that guy can actually play the shit out of those old classic tunes (hence the idiot savant reference)....and he can get some great tones too....but his contributions seem to come with a heavy price....and that price isn't tolerated.

My point: I liked this board when it originally opened. I trailed over from HCAF and TGP. I didn't dig what went down with Mitch Shaft but it was dealt with properly and, for the most part, swiftly....with class. As much as you can expect from an anonymous internet forum. Bob and Chris ran a great forum....the moderation was moderate and the board did move faster with OT posts allowed in the main forum. There was more bs for me to add my bs too. But, things have moved on and it is still a great forum...although split into more subdivisions. But, I can see how that can be useful.

IMO, we are all musicians. That makes us artists. Even if its only as a bedroom warrior that works a full 60 hrs/week as an office pogue. And, as history has shown repeatedly, artists are wacky and destructive....real fuckin wackyand destructive. So deal with it. Those that have gone will bring their ball back to the playground eventually.

I did see a short list of things he didn't like about the forum this morning. This was probably the calm before the shit storm of everything that followed that I missed tonight. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Quite honestly though, I think he asked to be removed to stir the pot...otherwise he just wouldn't come here anymore if disliked the changes that much. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

Edit: I will add, I liked this forum when it started and I think it's a great forum now. I don't always like every single aspect of any forum, but I don't bitch about any of it cause I'm laid back and just don't care enough to bother. If I don't like something enough, I just don't go there much....like HC

Meh, what The Idiot can or cant play is subjective and up for debate, either way, he doesnt bring anything to the table worth anything and certainly isnt worth having around, personally, I think that hes a souless hack that goes through the motions rehashing memorized licks which seems to fool some; not me though. If he was the second coming of Jimi or Shawn Lane( which he so clearly isnt) he isnt worth having around and this place is much better for it.

I still fail to see where there is any basis to fault the moderation here( I know why Thump would say it but he cant cant successfully back it up lol) He mentioned that there have been more bannings here than when he ran the place and while I cant speak for who he banned, the only people that have been banned here are carla and one other guy for racism along with a plethora of Russian spammers pushing Viagra,cialis etc...

I have a couple of things saved but I do wish that I had a bunch of others, it pretty much solidifies a bunch of points/issues that I and many others had.

I haven't seen anybody place blame of any kind, so let's not take it there. This is, however, why you have policies, whether written or unwritten (I'm referring to the post removal topic)

What's your source for saying that you "think Thump asked for his posts to be removed"? Is this just a guess, or were you told this.

Either way, as an administrator (which I'm not) I never eliminate audit trails, whether I leave the posts on the public forums or move them to an administrative forum. Again though, a fan of audit trails.
