...other than picks, strings, tubes (maintence gear)? I just realized the last piece of gear I bought was over 8 years ago. I used to flip amps/pedals left and right but for some reason, it just stopped. You know you are getting old when your gear you had in your teens is now becoming "vintage". :aww:

I've bought several amps over the last few years. Before that, I went 15+ years without an amp purchase. I've bought a couple of MkIII Boogies and a Quad preamp. I've been enjoying them. I can afford to buy them now without selling anything, so I just do that. I'll only sell to clear out space.

It's been 8+ years since a guitar purchase. Before that, all of my guitars had been around since the mid-90's.

I tend not to sell anything though. I still have the two Marshall 4x12's that were the core of my sound from the mid-80's. I sold the 2203 head around 2000 and regret that. I still have my 1984 Charvel and 1987 Jackson that were my primary guitars in the 80's and 90's. Both are kind-of retired and don't get taken out anymore. My other 4 primary guitars are all parts'o'mutts I built in the 80's and 90's and have no reason to sell off - they won't bring enough to make it worth selling them, and generally they're superior to anything I can purchase now, so my motivation is low.

The longest was probably 8 months, but that was due to waiting on a bulls to complete and making sure I had the cash when it was ready.

I was one of the lead gear whores on Harmony Central back in the day and then here on Rig-Talk. Years ago I'd say something like "Finally, I have everything I need" and then some jackass would post an awesome amp clip with just the right combination of tone, song selection, etc. and I'd run off and get my credit card.....

I don't think I have gone less than two weeks in the last decade. I have owned near 180 guitars and about 40 tube amps. Eight or nine drumsets, dozens of snares and cymbals.

Right now I am just over 40 guitars, 23 tube amps, probably 50+ pedals, three drum sets, 20 cymbals, 8 snares, two basses, two banjos, seven horns, one synth, one acoustic piano, a digital piano and other things I cant recall.

I was a legend Gear Slut bout 10 years back.
It’s been years since I bought anything.
Do trades count?? :D

I stopped buying amps/pedals when I bought my Axe FX 2 years ago. Pretty much solved that GAS. Still on lookout for the next guitar though.

Can I come live at your house?

It's in three different places. Lol. I move it around. I will be honest and say that there is a lot I don't use, but I go through phases. Lots of flipping but most of what I have is staying. I only have a few things left to get rid of, and don't need much, but know that I will always be chasing something.

Gear is a high priority for me. I don't really spend on much other than that. I drive a 2015 Ford and have a 12' boat and a 18' camper, and live within my means. I am different than most.

Up until this new to me Peavey 5150 head its been every 2-3 weeks, but this 5150 has solved the Gas..for now anyway.

I have gone through five of them. Thanks for reminding me I need to pick one up again

Fourteen years. I bought a Metaltronix M-1000 in 1990 and didn't blow my next load until 2004 when I got the VTM 60.
