The Yeti is darker-voiced than the Chupacabra. I also have an AFD #35. Great amp. Plexi channel from the Chupacabra and the AFD CHANNEL which is HIGHLY customizable. Awesome amp!! If you weren't so far away I'd just say let's get together and play 'em. Unfortunately, I'm in So Cal...

BTW--between the Chupacabra and the Yeti, IMHO, can't go wrong either way-just depends what you're looking for. Nik is awesome to deal with and goes far and above to make sure you're happy with your purchase. Highly recommended
How much difference between the chupa and the afd35 from ceriatone and which one do you prefer overall? I haven't heard much on the afd#35 yet but seems like a cool piece.

I am also looking at Surreal AKA 100.

I would definitely recommend the AKA 100. I think there are better choices for the AFD tone, but it's closer than the chupacabra in my opinion. I've had both, and still have the AKA...really amazing amp.

edit:

oh, just realized that first video is of the LC 100.

well, it's the same lead channel anyway

Of course I recomend the AKA as well.. being a HUGE fanboy! lol....

But seriously, I've got all my Marshall/Plexi tone covered... Jerry will make it like you hear it in your head. I have no issue with any other amps recomended, It's just like calling the builder as saying "Can you?...." and having the dude be able to do it... for under 5K... lol... Unless I'm lowballing you Jerry :scared: :gethim: :D

I have had a few of the Chupa's come in and they are great build quality but I feel they can be a little harsh and can be refined a bit. That's not to say they are bad, I just like them a bit different. Here is my take on the Jose circuit that I put into Marshall's or when I'm asked to tweak an amp to that tone. Good luck on whichever way you go.

FourT6and2,what didnt you like about the Chupacabra. Its my next amp......

It was just a tad too bright. And I wanted to try something else. If I had infinite resources, I'd buy another one. Maybe a Yeti this time. But both are great amps.

My mid pot has a different sweep.. you can get close to the AFD

Yup! That tone above is really AFD, and a little UYL as well. That sounds badass! What speakers were those??

The amps have the mids and cut as I hear it on the clips. Would love to hear something with the mids cut back a bit or maybe pushing low mids, ALA Tool or AIC.

it will scoop well tooo. that vid also has the treble up it will darken easlity ..
