Here is my situation... I have a 212 cab with 2 x 16-ohm speakers run in parallel to make 8 ohms total. I have an 8 ohm head and a 16 ohm head. I'd like to find some kind of switch plate for the back of the cab so I can wire it to allow me to play both speakers with the 8 ohm head, and then be able to switch to only 1 speaker so I can play with the 16 ohm head.

I'm sure this exists, but I have no idea where to look...

Thanks!

Have a look @ this:

*for stereo applications we install the optional 'PLUG-N-PLAY' from
http://www.dbinstrumentamp.com/drupal/c ... jack-plate

in the pic, jack one is tip/ring.
jack two is tip/ring/sleeve

wiring diagram (since you can't see it exactly in my pic from my cab)

not sure if that works for you.

i highly advise against simultaneously running powered 8 ohm head and a 16 ohm head into a hard wired speaker setup like this though.

the setup i posted is more for use with amps that can run 8ohms parallel with 2 16 ohm speakers.

getting into some fuckery with this one my man! be careful.

This looks interesting. I'm assuming those labels are for 2 x 8-ohm speakers. So for my situation (since I have 2 x 16-ohm speakers), I could plug into the "4 ohm mono" jack, and sound will come from both speakers @ 8 ohms, correct? Or I could plug into the "8 ohm Right" jack for just 1 speaker @ 16 ohms?

I took an electronics class in college, but its been a long time

I think you have your +'s and -'s backwards Yeti ?

Giga

i dont think so.

sleeve to negative

tip to positive

negative to ring

if there's a phasing issue with other cabs, switch the connectors at the speakers then instead of trying to rewire all the jacks.

as in sleeve to pos
tip to neg
negative to ring

16L 16R

8 mono

i think that jackplate is for 4x12 for wiring series/parallel though.
