Suhr Riot.

A local store has a few of those "Metalpedals". They are really bad.

Bad as in good? If not sounds like user error... ;)

Tell me this simple demo sound bad...

No, bad as in bad compared to others. ;)
And for the price, they look too much like 'BYOC forum' jobs.

Do you own one? I'd love to try one first. I for one didn't like the Riot at all.

I dont own one, but I have played all of them a few times. They sound killer. At the Philly guitar show, he had a huge crowd and sold all his stock... He is a really nice guy and builds great pedals.

I still love the Tim and Timmy. I also recently re-discovered the MXR micro amp. I have had one for ever and tried it out last month and it sounds great.
Im currently using a "mutant" micro amp I built. Its awesome  It bumped my barber DD and my Timmy

I like thi clip too. sounds really good. If I didnt build my own pedals now, Id deffinately grab one of those

Do yourself a favor and get a Rockbox Boiling Point. I paid about $340 for mine. I think. Gelb music had the best price. This pedal is exactly what you're looking for.
It's like they ran your guitar signal in a parallel signal path with the drive.

I know it's pricey , but it's that good. Can act as a clean boost as well. If you want to see it demo'd , go to YouTube and check out Gearmanndude. He has over 500 videos of almost every pedal known to man. And he does a great job. I saw he recently did a review of the Boiling Point. Check em out. You'll be glad you did ;)

Dude this pedal is the greatest ripoff I have seen yet. It is a tubescreamer variant with the typical BYOC three way switch.

There are probably about $25 parts involved, you could build it in half an hour or less. $389 is fu@%ing crazy!

The PCB of this pedal is also clearly a copy of the BYOC screamer PCB layout except with really thin traces.

If you wanted one of these I would say get an 808 and mod it (or have someone else mod it) to your preferences.

Not sure anyone has asked this, but what the hell is a TRANSPARENT DISTORTION PEDAL?

Distortion pedals, unlike clean boosts or OD's are high gain preamps that you run into a clean amp. By their nature, they're not going to be transparent. You sure you're not looking for an OD pedal?

  You're right. If a distortion pedal was transparent, then it wouldn't exactly distort would it? :D

Yeah something like that... LOL! :D

I want transparent fingers, picks and cables. I want nothing coloring my tone.
I want my other band mates to be completely see-thru... I don't want them absorbing ANY of my frequenecies.

and transparent picks and guitar cases.....don't even look at my guitars...don't want any heat vision to screw with my tone!

I think what the OP means is a distortion pedal that retains all the character of the guitar plugged into it and doesn't squash the dynamics either.

just as there are low gain OD pedals that are transparent in this way there are also high gain distortion pedals that can achieve the same. Admittedly not the majority.

In this respect I have played some firebreathers that retain your guitars character and add very little compression. As I stated earlier in my opinion the pedals that do this job best are FET based gain stages.

I know what he meant... it just makes no sense.

I'm going to plug my guitar in sans strings..I don't want them to alter my tone..thus I'll take t hem out of the equation

Ahh yes... Air Wood...
What's the most transparent strap? I hear neoprene absorbs the bloom and woodiness of the tone.
