ISP Decimator.
I use the pedal in front of my amps and it works like a charm even when changing settings and rolling off the volume.
In my rack I use the ISP Pro Rack G....one gate, like the pedal in the front, and the other in the loop.
Best gates made period.
No tone suck at all.

Guys,

Luckily I am all gain all the time so it sounds like it should do the trick. I will give it a shot and see how it goes. I respect everyone's opinion but as with the wireless when there seems to be overwhelming agreement on one choice, that is usually the best one. Looks like the ISP is the one. Thanks.

Get the G-String model. Run the guitar in front and your amp's loop in the Decimator section. I do this with a Hughes & Kettner Switchblade and it works perfectly.

When I had a rack/preamp I used the ISP ProRack G it worked flawlessly. Now that I am back to single channel I use the ISP g String it works just as well. The only effect I have on the outside of the G-string is my FLashback.

i knew before clicking on this thread that everyone was going to say isp decimator. it is a sweet gate. it is well worth it.

Decimator is the only gate to consider...why? It's the only one that has ever truly worked properly.

I have both an ISP Decimator and a Boss NS-2. They both work fine. I use my NS-2 in front of my JVM and if it can quiet that amp (and it does), it can quiet any amp.

Sounds like other issues with the JVM. Mine is dead quiet since replacing the stock pre and power tubes...

That's possible I guess. But from talking with others, it seems the JVM is a noisy amp when you're using a bunch of gain. But it wouldn't hurt to throw new tubes in mine. I bought it used and it has the original tubes in it.
