I had great success with Musikraft making a neck and body about 10 years ago.

I want to do it again. I love the musikraft wolfgang neck—my favorite neck of all time. I plan to replicate that again, and throw it on a strat HH body for a Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod type vibe.

I see Musikraft no longer paints bodies. I want this, but looks like guitarpaintguys is no longer accepting orders:

Anyone have any recommendations? I can drop ship a body from Musikraft to the finisher, or maybe there is a place doing bodies + metal flake painting?

Warmoth. They do both Wolfgang neck profiles and HH S bodies.

I have the standard thin neck but here is a recent Warmoth build:

@MacMeda looks great. Who did the painting for that? I'm potentially going to have Rowyco Customs in Durham NC do the painting, but he's a bit hard to reach via email, and haven't been able to confirm a slot for availability yet.

Supposedly, it is a Charvel custom shop prototype that never made it farther than this stage.
I had to have it, but will never use it.

I was about to warn you about GuitarPaintGuys, but it looks like they aren't taking orders...they did a DK24 body for me in gunmetal flake that took almost a year to get back, so would not recommend. To be fair, the paint itself turned out great.

Do you have any local custom car or bike painters? Painting a guitar body isn't rocket science.

I'm done with any custom builders that I can't go visit in person. "4-6 weeks" always turns into "4-6 months"

I've had good results with MJT both business level and consumer level. I plan on sending them a 93 PRS CU24 this year or the next. Their work is top notch and they're a great group of dudes. Their bread and butter is aged finishing/relic'ing, but I've had no relic'ing and the finish came out minty perfect.
