Hi all,

All my cabs are 2x12 and they cover a lot of what I want, although I have a desire for a light, easy to move 4x12 since I have to carry my cabs up and down steps all the time. Something as light as my 212 cabs would be great, maybe 80s or less!? I am thinking, to save weight, I will have to go with Neo speakers, no? Although I have heard of some cabs coming in at a very light weight and I am not sure why. Maybe thinner wood. Personally, I would be happy buying something like a Splawn 4x12 or something similar and installing maybe Jensen, Weber or Eminence Neo speakers. The speakers should be less than 100db for my tastes and on the vintage side. :) Any good suggestions?

Thank you! :)

Get some neo speakers, that'll lighten the cab up quite a bit.

Maybe you could try stacking two 2x12 cabinets and see how that goes ?

DV Mark ( Markbass's guitar division) makes a really lightweight 4x12 cabinet. weighs under 50 lbs according to the site.

I must admit I have never used this cab before though.

Thank you sir. That is killer, but I wonder how it sounds and their speakers are no name. On quick view, I didn't see a price.

G-flex 2x12's sound as big or bigger than a lot of 4x12's due to their construction. You could put vintage speakers in one of those and yes they are light to begin with.

I used to have a G Flex, but ported cabs are always boomy to me.

Robotechnology had one at his house for a while, I played it once and it sounded pretty good. This is going back a while so it's not 100% fresh in my mind but I remember it did sound good. And it was VERY light. You could pick it up with one hand with no problem.

Ola has used those cabs in a few videos. Another forum member that owns a Natas has them too.

Comming from Italy I am guessing it would be expensive. Maybe I could pick up a used 412 and install speakers...maybe the lightest ceramics I can find like Greenbacks, since Neos are too darn expensive. LOL

Speakers aren't no name. They're B&C which is a pretty big company in Europe, and you'd be suprised who uses thier speakers but doesn't give them credit. I have several B&C woofers, and they're pretty damned good.
