Sure.

Don't confuse something new with something better.

If they were not still viable they would not still have videos on, radio rotation, concerts on TV, and be in prime time gossip shows...

Or most importantly, be a topic on a forum visited by Bob Rock and The Het!

Well I have not heard their latest, but I kind of wrote them off a while ago. And just because they are on radio rotation and concerts on TV/DVD does not make them relevant in my book. I loved their older stuff though!! Most of the stuff on radio/TV, etc sucks ass!! As far as Bob and The Het!! Well those two will always be relevant in my book.

Yeah, the nerve of a lead singer dying and leaving the band stranded. WTF were they thinking?

Every time I see a comment about AIC isn't the same without Layne, or Metallica died with Cliff Burton, I have to laugh at the absurdity of their statement. Well, duh....no shit. The band isn't the same. It's certainly not the bands fault.

Agreed 100%.

Robert DeLeo is my favorite bass player ever.
That is all.

Absolutely! Wonderful bassist. Knows how to play for the song.

Pffft...maybe you should try to be a little more unstable again so you can actually WRITE GOOD MUSIC AGAIN, DICK!!
Hey Bob, what street did you live on in Wpg?

Seriously??? Fine. Bannerman Ave. in the North End and then briefly in St. James. Happy?
Awesome! Not too far from me then!

As much as I agree with you about Weiland, his voice and style is STP.

Now I know AIC has a new singer, was new who sounds very close to Layne Staley but he died and to me AIC is still great but I miss LS.

Singers are a special bread and there douche ness is sometimes what makes the band/music great. Im sure if Jim Morrison was still alive acting the way he did he wouldn't be liked as much anymore, but that is what made him him.

ok... I'm ready for impact :D

nailed it

pshhhh....you gotta ask?
Jim Nabors of course.
That guy could swoon the panties and briefs off anyone with his velvet voice.

Mo, don't forget about Sin, Piece of Pie and Crackerman for the hard stuff.

Interstate Love Song is a fucking classic pop/rock tune too. Thats just quality songwriting. We must cover their entire two first albums.

I would never dare!! STP has been and remains one of my fave bands of all time. I just really dig their music and vibe. Atlanta is a great song seeing as we just mentioned Jim Morrison. Just listened to Plush this morning over coffee and paperwork. It's all good.

Plush annoys the crap out of me... depressive dirge

Hey, I love it.

And your handle is crankyrayhanky.

Just sayin'...

Ironically, I'm usually pretty mellow these days...but that Plush just hit a sore spot, lol

Tripping On A Hole...

Great song. Builds rage and energy. They ended the Chicago show with that one. Whatever Scott does, hopefully it involves sanity and sobriety. He has done it as far as a singer musician. Now just how to live that reasonably happy life.

I may listen to that on the way in to the grind today...

There was a disc in the mid to late 90s that had a happier 70s trippy vibe...I kind of liked that one  . I have to investigate to see which release that was...

People always go right to the early STP, which is great.
But their later albums were pure gold.
Shangri-la-Dee-Da for instance.
