I get it... it's their house and their rules. I have no problem with that so I watch myself over there and play by the rules but sometimes it's just so way over the top with the knee jerk reactions the mods have to some things that may get close to the line.... especially in the modeling forum. A lot of sand in the man-jayjays over there.

I got an infraction once for asking a guy if he could read my mind to the point that he can judge my intentions or reasons for posting.

Poor manners (personal insults, harassment, PM violations, arguing)

I really like reading there since there is a lot of good info but it's shit like this that makes that place borderline like a place run by a narcissistic dictator.

I don't know what I find more sad - rabid fanboys (I've been one in the past for Hamer and BOSS gear), or those who go out to deliberately to provoke the response. The OP in that thread knew exactly who he was poking and what was likely to happen. The pileup would have been identical if it was swatting the Kemper beehive, with the possible exception of the suspension. Calling out a mod is an almost guaranteed way to feel the Ban Hammer on any forum other than maybe The Drake.

I like the Telecaster Forum. Lots of cool stuff. TGP does not interest me so much as to become involved. If I was constantly selling gear, it may be worth joining.

Those modeler people are not real anyway. They are close approximations to carbon based life forms with subtle hints of OCD aliasing...

Doesn't really apply in private forums, although it's cool that some allow you to speak your mind.

TGP is one of the most heavily censored gear environments I've seen as well as full of double standards (Do as I say but not as I do).

TGP is certainly moderated way too heavily. They get away with it because they are the biggest gear forum. They were (pretty much) there first, established a good online community, and took off. They weren't always so heavy-handed as mods.

Big Mike is the most level headed mod they have. I have witnessed every other mod there (aside from Bryan) make dumbass comments and curtail discussions to a ridiculous amount.

As far as I'm concerned, RT has pretty much replaced TGP for me in finding gear. There is still a large knowledge base in the membership at TGP. But RT is no slouch in that dept either.

Yes but it was necessary not unnecessary. He removed it I think and I know he banned me from his youtube page cause I tried to answer him. Basically I typed something like "dude time to get over the whole 'pigeon welding' and Fractal thing". BTW, I have never posted anything to the guy before not even his first review.

I only saw the review because it was on the Kemper forum and I clicked the link. After I read it (here: http://www.tonymckenzie.com/dv-mark-multiamp-review.htm). I just had to give him a little howdy do.

Nope saw that. Doesn't change a thing since I can't see what was said and given there are some there who's chins are constantly bruised by their knees hitting them.... I'd doubt much was said to get the resulting action you posted a link to. Speaking of tattle tales I'm sure someone went tattling to the mods. Now I'm sure that wont happen to mods who post the same things but such is the environment there.
