Indeed. Hopefully, all of the manufacturers that hang out at TGP will leave, too. It's one thing to keep a forum clean; it's another to dictate people's thoughts and opinions. A forum is a place to discuss, whether right/wrong/good/bad.

Wow, I really don't understand what the guy is doing that's pissing you guys off. I read the entire thread and can't find anything negative from him. He seemed to go out his way to be impartial.

I don't know Big Mike so I can't comment on any other behavior other than what he had to say in the link that you supplied. In that linked thread he makes it clear that he is offering his personal opinion and not moderating. Beyond that, everything he said as far as I can tell is spot on...I fail to see what you could possibly be agitated over?

This generation doesn't know records, sometimes not even CDs , they know mp3's and these are the same assholes who tell me they know about tone.

Get a record and play it, then play the cd and then play the damn mp3 and you will know why some of us might have a different way of hearing music.

I will say it once, the fucking kempers and fractals are just a fucking tool, but not in the same league as a good amp.
BY the way, to me they are only a fucking toaster and you can go shove them all up.

As time passes, old people seem to be becoming more set in their ways than ever.

That generation doesn't know about technology, sometimes not even newer pedals, they know Marshalls and these are the same assholes that tell me they know about tone.

Get a new way of playing music, and then play the damn Marshall and you will know why some of us might have a different way of hearing music.

I'll say it once, the 80s are over, and 100 watt Marshalls are old tools and not exactly what some people need anymore. BY the way, I've never liked them and you can go shove them all up.

Exactly. I've posted clips here with admitted tube heads PMing me for settings and getting bent when I tell em it's a $20 app on my phone. There's probably 5% of the population that can tell the difference in the first place, but everybody that's ever touched a guitar likes to act like they can 'hear the tubes'.

Plus I'm pretty sure that Econ guy is just trolling anyway.....read something about it in a Bogner thread awhile ago.
 
I find it best to stay relatively low profile on there.

Occasionally I get picked on for asking about the same topics and accused of being lazy "expecting others to put in the effort". The point is that I'm not satisfied with the current limited information out there and I'm questioning things from different angles, at different times. Often I'm away from any music discussion but then at times I'll think stuff over in my head, then ask it on the forum.

And yes I've noticed the big marketing machine that it is. It's spreading to other forums too, and social media websites even more so (ugh).
I just ignore it.

In fact it is probably those henchmen that are whinging at me, for distracting the discussions away from their pushy sales!
